Its name is both a nod to Bird Island on Strangford Lough and a reflection of our aim to create a cosy nest in which guests feel snug, comfy and relaxed. The Gate House is located at the end of a country lane, as such it is not the most even of surfaces! vehicles with very low suspension may struggle 😬 we hope to see you soon Chris and Hannah

Relax in this recently renovated guesthouse nestled into a hill with beautiful views of the countryside. Plenty of space for 3 guests with two bedrooms (double and single beds) and an open living/dining/kitchen area. Cot and high chair available for infants- advise us if required. Close to the villages of Portaferry, Cloughey and Strangford, the area is rich in wildlife and heritage. Or just relax by the fire and soak up the magic of this unique place. Our other cottage, which is immediately adjacent, sleeps 4 and people often rent the two properties together for larger groups.
