The Carriage House: Beautiful Farmland Views.

The Carriage House is the second floor of our cedar stables that was turned into an apartment years ago. It was completely redone this spring and professionally decorated to make it a cozy + luxe retreat with views to die for. While we no longer use the stables to house animals we still keep a few head of cattle + sheep in the pasture for your enjoyment. The wall of windows along the back of the apartment offer you the most stunning views of the surrounding farmland and an unforgettable sunrise.

With lots of trails and the Susquehanna River close by, your family can spend many hours hiking in southern Lancaster County. Experience the local Britain Hill Vineyard,coffee,and ice cream shops nearby. The charming city of Lancaster with its many authentic restaurants is only a 20 minute drive. Our 1919 charming home, surrounded by 50 acres of preserved land, is in an historic district and a stone's throw from the NCR hike/bike trail. We have tubes to float down the Gunpowder River which winds around our property and is accessible by foot. The bike path is lovely! Inverness Brewery is located 5 minutes away, Starbright farm is a glorious lavender farm 15 minutes north, Boordy Vineyards, a family run winery, is 20 minutes east, and Ladew Toipiary Gardens is another gem to behold!

Cabin is very charming, but rustic. Kitchen has full size frig, microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, toaster+ keurig. Coffee, condiments, soap & shampoo provided. There is a gas grill. Guests provide their qs sheets, towels, campfire wood & drinking water. A variety of dvd’s & games, hot water in & outside shower & tub. Tubes for floating provided, swim your own risk. Fire pit, creek is stocked. Steps to deck overlooking the creek.Trash goes home with guests, smoking on the decks only.

Enjoy easy access to everything from this perfectly located home base. Close to downtown Bel Air as well as 95! Fully appointed space that is dog friendly w a fenced yard! Stocked kitchenette, private bedroom and designated work space w wifi. Wifi & wifi speaker, smoke detectors, Co2 detectors, electric fireplace. Although the kitchenette doesn’t have a sink/water there is a Deer Park water cooler with hot & cold water, and supplies under bathroom sink to use for dish washing.
