The goal of this experience is to bring together a community with a common interest in learning mindfulness meditation techniques. There is a power when a group comes together to meditate, and I want to share my practice and teachings with those interested. Beginners encouraged!

I will welcome you to my home in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where we will start our experience with herbal tea and water. From there, we will arrange ourselves comfortably in my living room (sitting in chairs or on the couch), and I will take you through 20-minute semi-guided mindfulness meditation. I’ll use the timer app which will play a bell at the start of the session and then at the 20-minute mark another bell will play to notify us of the conclusion. We will then talk about our experience with more tea. Expect the experience to take the 1-hour total from start to end and we will end on time. Please don't be late. People who show up later than 5-minutes into the start time will not be able to join due to the nature of this experience.

The total experience will be one hour long. Please be considerate of the timing.

My home is up one flight of stairs; unfortunately, we cannot accommodate people who are not able to climb stairs.

This experience with Mel was fantastic! I felt beautiful connection with the other members of the group and time passed so fast. She did a wonderful job in guiding me though one of my first meditation experiences. If you have an hour in NYC, consider treating yourself with this experience! If you don’t have it, try to make time for it, you will love it!

I've been wanting to try out meditation for a while but I didn't like the idea of doing an app, so I jumped on this opportunity when I saw it come up. Overall, the experience was everything I expected and more! We kicked off the session by spending some time getting to know each other, discussing our previous experiences with meditation, and discussing what we were each looking to gain out of the experience. We then did a meditation session guided by Melissa that really allowed me to reach a level of peace that I don't normally experience. As someone that's always on the run and feels like I can't sit still, it was incredible to get to a point where the stress melted away and time passed by without notice. Afterwards, we had an opportunity to discuss and reflect on the experience, which really strengthened the energy in the room. Melissa was a fantastic host, creating a safe and warm environment for making this happen. And the tea and snacks were great too :) This is definitely something I would do again! Thank you Melissa!!

Thank you Mel for holding such beautiful space for a wonderful get together! It was great to meet interesting people and connect through the experience of meditation. As a seasoned meditator, I found this was a really fun experience to foster the sense of community. Mel's guiding style is open and supportive for both new and experienced meditators alike, and her genuine and fun energy creates a safe space to share and connect. And the snacks and tea were on point too!

Mel led one of the best meditation experiences I've ever had! To begin, Mel made us tea and had us do a little icebreaker to create a comfortable and supportive environment for the meditation. We mutually agreed to set the timer for 15 minutes and then Mel made sure each of us was seated in the ideal way. After that, Mel led us through a guided portion and then the next thing I knew, the bell rang. I was surprised, because it felt like almost no time had passed at all! After the meditation, we snacked on a delicious spread of wholesome goodies and shared our reactions. It was a truly lovely time and I would recommend it to both seasoned meditators and newbies alike!

Mel is an exceptional host. She has a natural knack for making a group of people who didn't know each other before feel comfortable in each others company and ultimately meditate together. I didn't know anyone else at Mel's meditation Experience and I really enjoyed getting to know Mel and her group of meditators. She has a very calming presence, is incredibly inclusive and I felt very welcome in her beautiful home. I'm definitely going to attend Mel's meditations on the regular - I left feeling relaxed, clear-headed and like I had done something positive for myself over the weekend. Thank you Mel!
