We'll meet at Madrid's Plaza Mayor and stroll through the winding streets of the medieval center, visiting architectural gems and charming squares. As a specialist in Renaissance history, I'll tell you about Madrid's fascinating transition from a fortified medieval outpost to the regal capital of a global empire. We'll discuss kings, queens, writers, and local figures, giving you the context to appreciate Madrid's history and it's place in the world. I'll also share my perspective as a resident of modern Madrid - a vibrant city with a world-class scene for arts and gastronomy.

**This tour previously included stops for food and drinks, but due to health and safety concerns we'll now stay outdoors. After the tour, I'll give you my personalized guide for restaurants, bars, and lesser-known places to visit.

We are a family of 5 with 3 young children. Bradley was fantastic and we all thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We’ve all come away from the tour having a greater appreciation for Madrid and saw some sites we would have never of seen.

Bradley's experience is perfect for someone looking to learn about the history and landmark of the city mixed in with fun facts that really colored the experience. The dip into the museum was a highlight for me.

What a great tour! We took this tour on the last day of out visit. We had already gone around and seen all of the tourist destinations, so we were afraid that we would repeat ourselves on the tour. We did not! Bradley doesn’t show you all the touristy things that you could easily see by yourself, he shows you wonderful back allies that you would have never gone down. We were the only two on the tour, so it was more of a conversation than a guided tour. The drink to start of was a great way to loosen up, then followed by walking down beautiful streets, getting to know each other better, and of course some really interesting history. We finished the walk with some local tapas, which was really good. Bradley is a fella who loves history. You could really sense his love for the subject, when explaining historical context or historical architecture. Being American, he is of course fluent in English, but he is also fluent in Spanish, which comes in handy when ordering food, translating murals, or conversing with locals. Overall a wonderful tour, and a must do, if you have the time!

If you’re really into history then this tour is definitely for you. Wear comfortable shoes! You’ll be doing a decent amount of walking. Madrid is a beautiful city but so is Bradley (the tour guide). ;D ^.^

Such a wonderful experience! We learned so much about the history & culture in Madrid. The tapas & wine were excellent. Bradley is so knowledgeable about his subject and conveys this in a wonderful and interesting way. Highly recommend!!
