Track Wild Otters in Cape Point and see Nature at it's Best.

We meet just inside the Entry booms Paypoint of the Cape of Good Hope ( also known as Cape Point). We drive down to the start of our tour together. On the tour, We will track the earlier passing animals and discover the unique plants, animals and sealife along the seashore and in the rockpools. We may even see the Humpbacks, Brydes, Orcas, or Southern Right whales passing close by .
We don't disturb or harm the wild animals in any way and we aim to save our wild creatures from pollution, trapping, urban developement and harassment by uncaring humans.

I grew up along these wild and wonderful Cape Point shores and I am a fully registered Tourism Guide, Outdoor Photographer and Animal Tracker.

This tour is an easy walk and you are encouraged to take your shoes off to feel the crunchy sand between your toes or wet your feet in the cool Atlantic Ocean, while you take in the scents and beauty of Nature. Don't forget to pack your swimming clothes and a towel, in case you feel like a refreshing swim in a rockpool, too

I also enjoy guiding guests who are not sure-footed on uneven ground - please message me with your requirements and I will design a custom tour to suit your abilities.

Tempat yang akan Anda datangi

We walk down in Cape Point Nature Reserve, where all is almost undisturbed by human visitors and the sense of inner peace is quite amazing. Visit deserted beaches, old shipwreck sites, slender freshwater streams and meander along winding game trails, away from any tourism bus and coach traffic routes.
Each walk is carefully chosen by me just before the walks, to get the best sightings and enhance your overall experience of our Nature Reserve.

We've spent a woooonderful morning with Terry in Cape of Good Hope! He's a very interesting and a nice person himself and a knowledgeable guide and animal tracker. The national park is a stunningly beautiful place, a must see if you are a nature lover. There were no other people around, so it was absolutely worse it going for this walk early in the morning. The walk was not very physically demanding, with beautiful views and a lot of sun. Terry told us a lot about the local animals, their habits, and also about his life, which was super interesting and inspiring. We saw ostriches, baboons, antelopes, lots of different birds. Haven't seen the otters but one can never predict the fauna's schedule so we were not frustrated at all. Plus, Terry shared many tips on tracking the otters so we've learned a lot! That's one of my favourite Airbnb experiences so far and I highly recommend it to fellow travellers!

What a fantastic morning we spent. Terry was a totally engaging and knowledgeable host, with really excellent communication skills. You couldn't find a guide more passionate about their subject and we came away feeling we had all learnt new things about the amazing territory, flora and fauna. We didn't see otters but we felt enriched by the whole experience - especially, for me, the wild swimming in the secret pool. An absolute highlight of our trip to SA - and we will definitely do this again.

What a wonderful afternoon spent with the Otter Man! Even though we didn't see any otters we saw plenty of signs they were around! Terry made sure he pointed out all of the indicators that they were there. It was so enjoyable to share in his passion for not only otters but for all animals and nature in general

Great experience with perfect coffee afterwards. We’ve learned a lot about the animals we saw, about the sea and nature in South Africa. Terry was super, very passionate and imparted a lot of knowledge! Unfortunately, we didn’t see any otters :(

Terry is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the walk at Cape Point was beautiful. We didn't see any otters, but I enjoyed the walk nonetheless. However, considering the cost of this experience at this time (770 ZAR) I was left feeling quite disappointed. In addition to the above comes a park entry fee of 300 ZAR (less if you're a SA citizen). You get much more for less on other Cape Town experiences, so just make sure you do your research before you decide which ones to do. The walk in the bay below the Buffelsfontein visitor centre is easily something you can do on your own if you just want to have a beautiful walk in the park away from the tourists.

Terry was a wonderful guide who created a very special experience while looking for otters. We were in parts of the park that we wouldn’t have found on our own and without anyone else there. We learned a ton and hope to be back again sometime soon!
