Yang akan Anda lakukan

I would like our guests to feel our traditional culture not only Origami but also our normal life.

I will meet you in front of the Kitano-Tenmangu-Shrine. Most Japanese are Buddhists, but we are so flexible for religions, I may say. Japanese go to the closest shrine to say hi to the local God for the first time you visit a place. So, I would like you to feel our culture and introduce how we do. Just see how I do, you do not need to pray. I will also introduce my town on the way to get there.(Attention! I am not a specialist for religions, I am only a normal Japanese, I just want to introduce to the local life. )

After visiting the Kitano-Tenmangu-Shrine, I will take you to a small walk to our neighbor, and we will walk to the studio.

Once you enter the studio, you will see a piece of paper in many different colors. There are many kinds of beautiful colors and patterns. We will have a tea break before we start. I will prepare some Japanese sweets with green tea. We will introduce ourselves to each other.

First, you will learn an essential technique to fold an origami (paper) crane. Then, you can also learn how to make a paper hexahedron for its decoration. We do not have much time to make the thousand, but you can make a little souvenir at the end.

Second, if you kindly have an interest in the peace projects. I would be very happy to share with you.
Other things to note
We will prepare a hundred origami papers. If you need a thousand origami papers, please ask our staff.

I am a co-founder of the Senbatwolu project for the peace movement. The concept of this workshop is to introduce our traditional culture, called Thousand Origami Cranes. We believe that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will make a wish come true, such as world peace, long life, or recovery from illness or injury. After the war, there was a girl who became cancer in Hiroshima. Hiroshima is a city where people had suffered from the atomic bomb. The girl began to fold a thousand cranes for World peace until she died. Thousand Origami Cranes is a special and heartful gift for special friends and family. It is more meaningful to fold cranes with as many people as possible. Please come and join us to start folding cranes to make your wish come true.
