We'll start visiting one of our traditional supermarkets to buy some fresh ingredients and explore the Japanese supermarket at the same time. Once at home, we'll start to cook together some our traditional dishes while you get introduce to our culture. We'll cook some Japanese rice, the authentic Miso soup, delicousTeriyaki chiken and Dashimaitamago. After cooking, let's taste and enjoy our efforts with my handmade plum wine or matcha on tatami mat floor. It will be a wonderful memory to experience Japanese life.

The passion for cooking has passed from generation to generation in my family. It's not only about cooking, its also about culture. And its about sharing too, this is why during the last years many travelers around the world have been welcomed at my home to cook together some of our traditional dishes. I have a cooking license and I also have a certified adviser and coordinator for healthy and natural food.
It's my expectation to let them not only taste the freshest vegetables and fish but also experience Japanese traditional culture.

Absolutely couldn't have been better- we cooked the best katsudon of our lives with Atsuko! Together, we made simple cabbage pickles, miso soup with Atsuko's *fantastic* homemade miso, dashi-maki tamago, and of course the glorious katsudon, while Atsuko also shared mochi sweets, green tea (and the proper way to drink it!), homemade plum wine, and a creamy spinach side dish with us... It was heavenly. Atsuko is super high-energy, told us about her life and taught us Japanese words (jōzu!), and we really wanted to spend more time with her. She was just the best. I can't recommend this experience (and this wonderful woman) more!

This was amazing! Atsuko had several cooking classes and was very accommodating and helpful. It was great, we told her we were learning Japanese and she would help us with words or speak in bother Japanese and English for us. She was warm, exciting, knowledgeable, and very kind. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone and would happily take another of her classes.
I definitely suggest coming with a very empty stomach because we had so much delicious food!! :)

Amazing!! This was by far our favorite experience while in Fukuoka! Atsuko was so very sweet as well as a great teacher. We loved going shopping for our own ingredients and being able to participate every step of the way. The food was of course delicious. Among other things we made teriyaki chicken, a Japanese style omelette, rice, and okonomiyaki. We also got to enjoy great local strawberries and Atsuko’s homemade plum wine!

A very great experience. Atsuko is warm and welcoming as is her home. We made many different dishes. All were delicious. She shared her homemade miso, wonderful eel, homemade plum wine. We ate until we were very full and then she graciously packed up the leftovers to take home. I wish to see her next time we come to Japan. Oishi!!!
