Yang akan Anda lakukan
We will meet at the station and I will guide you to the cemetery where the Macrobiotics founder, Mr.George Ohsawa is buried.
After, we'll go for a hike in the mountains to immerse ourselves in nature.
You will be greeted by yellow rape flowers and pink peach blossoms on the way to the mountain. If your visit is at the end of March to early April, you may get to see Cherry blossoms. Then we will have a nice Japanese vegan bento lunch that I made earlier under cherry blossom trees.
We'll walk down to my home, where you can learn how to make Sakuramochi,/cherry blossom cake. There, I'll give you a short talk on Macrobiotics over dessert that we have made together.
This is a full day tour of about 7 hours.
This experience is held in Saitama prefecture and it takes about 2 hours from central Tokyo by train. (About an hour and a half from Shibuya Station.)
Please note that you will get back to Tokyo around 8~9pm
I can introduce a very small and old cosy ryokan, Japanese style hotel near my home with very reasonable price if you want to stay overnight.
IMPORTANT: If it rains, we may cancel the hiking portion of the experience and do some indoor activities instead!
Other things to note
You are advised to bring your own water bottle for the mountain hike.
However, water can be purchased from the vending machine.
Wear comfortable shoes as you'll walk 2~3 hours.

Incredible, once in a lifetime opportunity to experience another side of Japan with a kind and knowledgeable, easygoing local. I found a kindred spirit in Kurina - she introduced me to the philosophy behind macrobiotics, which is so critical at this time with all that's going on in the environment. We had a peaceful walk in a tranquil setting I wouldn't otherwise have been able to find, a delicious meal and even spotted a unique animal none of us had seen before. Kurina graciously opened her home to me to join her in making sakura. Truly unique!
Highly recommend this to nature lovers, people who appreciate simplicity and sustainability or those looking for some peace between exploring Tokyo, other cities.

It’s my first time to enjoy the workshop in Japan. It is an unexpected and beyond my expectations. I love her sharing of authentic and ancient way of macrobiotics and the understanding of the nature. Her philosophy and wisdom help me to reflect and contemplate myself. Her love and her passionate of what she is doing inspires me to find my path. She is merely showing the way so I can find my own way. Thank you so much Kurina! I will come back again!

The view was so beautiful and air was also fresh!
Many kind of plants are sprouting, the splendor of a variety flower was blooming , and sometime light breeze flowed over my cheek... I heard the sound of small streams ran down among the rocks and a narrow mountain paths with freeness, I really enjoyed myself while slow walking.
Then I enjoyed tasty Obento; very beautiful lunch box packed neatly on the spring grasses.
Also there was a lesson of cooking sweet!
It was a too much of experience enjoyable for me!!!

From the start until the end, the early spring experience was truly delightful for the heart and soul!
The experience began with a stop at the Musashino Reien Cemetery to see George Ohsawa’s grave (founder of Macrobiotics) where Kurina gave interesting insights to George’s life and his role in Macrobiotics.
We then proceeded with our hike to Kamakita lake. Coming from the city, nature often escapes our eyes but Kurina pointed out the many seasonal vegetables and beautiful little spring flowers in bloom. Being so close to Sakuras and plum blossoms was such a treat!
Lunch was a delightful vegan obento freshly prepared by Kurina. Lots of love and care went into its preparation which was as pretty and colorful as the flowers we saw during the hike! A brief introduction was provided to each item in the lunch box and we proceeded to savor it with view of the mountain and spring blooms all around.
Sweets making session awaits after lunch. As it is early spring, we made Sakuramochi. A quick read of the ingredients and steps to making it and the prettiest dessert magically appears in a matter of minutes!
We ended the beautiful experience with Kurina providing an introduction to Macrobiotics and how one can incorporate it into their lifestyle when making food choices.

A lovely early spring experience - highly recommended for nature lovers.
We started with a visit to George Ohsawa's (founder of macrobiotics) grave, then proceeded on our hike.
Along the way, Kurina pointed out & introduced the many types of flowers in bloom (including cherry & plum blossoms).
Moroyama is such a picturesque town!
We hiked up to a mountain lake & enjoyed the vegan bento box prepared by Kurina. Everything is lovingly prepared from scratch, including homemade miso & Yuzu-scented pickles.
After lunch, we walked back to Kurina's home to make sakuramochi. It was magical to see a few simple ingredients transformed into such a pretty dessert!
We ended with an introduction to the philosophy of macrobiotics & practical tips for making food choices that agree with your body.
