We'll meet at my lovely studio where I'll introduce you to the magical world of bookbinding. I'll teach you about the different specialised tools, materials and binding techniques involved in this craft. I'll guide you step-by-step through the process of creating a hardcover book and you will get a chance to choose from a selection of beautiful papers, bookcloths and card to customise your book. At the end of the workshop, you'll take away your very own handmade book which can be used as a notebook, journal, sketchbook or anything else you would like.

I am an artist specialising in book arts, bookbinding and printmaking. I have more than 10 years experience as an educator, and I am the founder of We Make Books, which aims to promote the craft of bookbinding and the book as an art object in its own right.

We'll be at my studio in Stoke Newington, north-east London. The studio is located within a building shared with other creatives and artists.
In 2.5 hours Lina clearly, patiently, and thoroughly explained and demonstrated how to create s simple yet elegant small book. She allowed me to do all I could and gave only necessary help. The time was relaxed but entirely sufficient. Lina is an excellent instructor. I cane away with a personal, hand made book and am confident that I could repeat the process once home.
