I'll teach you to write your name in kanji using the beautiful and ancient art of Japanese calligraphy. You'll need to tell me how to pronounce your name ahead of time so that I can translate it into kanji and give your name an appropriate meaning. I'll show you how to write your name in Japanese on a card that you'll get to take home as a souvenir. We'll also talk about the history and meanings behind Japanese kanji characters, many of which are also Chinese characters.

Takaya est adorable et très pédagogue. Il a prit le temps pour ces deux élèves gauchers et pas très doués que nous sommes 😅 Nous sommes reparti avec un souvenir et une belle expérience à raconter. J'ai hâte de retravailler cela une fois rentrée.

Takaya was very welcoming and and taught us basics of calligraphy. We've even be able to leave knowing how to write our name in Kanji! Very well explained and fun !

Excellent!! It was really fun learning about the history of Japanese writing. Takaya is very nice and even picked us up at the station! I am so happy to have learned my name in kanji.

A very interesting experience not only for those who are interested in calligrapfhie but also for thos who want to learn more about the history of Kanji. Takaya is a very good teacher, the session takes place in his guest house and very soon you will begin to learn how to draw your first strokes. Finally it ends up in writing your own name in Kanji with a brush, what is very interesting, especially if your name is commonly not-Japanese. Highly recommended from my side! I'm very glad to make this experience and that I finally know how to write my name in a 'cool' way :-)

We had such a good time with Takaya! He made us feel welcome and made certain we were relaxed and comfortable. He is a knowledgeable and patient teacher, very calm and encouraging. We learned a lot about Japanese culture and language, as well as technique. I highly recommend this experience!
