We'll walk along Tenjinbashisuji, reputed to be the longest shopping street in Japan. I love that it's so full of culture and history. It's one of the favorite things about my neighborhood. We'll check out the local shops and markets that visitors may overlook. You'll learn the unique stories that the shopkeepers and owners have to share with us. You'll also learn about the history of a miso store, a tofu shop's secret recipes, the significance of plums in Japanese culture, and where to find the best local products. I'll take you out for a memorable day in Osaka, where you'll get to chat with residents and explore unique flavors at some of the street vendors and restaurants.
Other things to note
We'll be walking for about two hours, so please wear comfortable footwear.

Tockey was a fantastic guide, really knowledgeable and friendly. The tour itself took us around Tenjinbashisuji but we visited some of the older stores and enjoyed learning about the history of the stores and Osaka itself.

Tockey was a very friendly and informative guide. We learnt about Japanese history, culture and traditions while walking through a shopping area used more by locals than tourists. We were able to sample some of the food/drinks at the stores we stopped by which was great! I would definitely recommend this tour for travellers wanting to understand more about Japanese culture.

The trip to Osaka market and shirine with her was so interesting. Through her, I could see many things in Japan. And I met a variety of people and knew how warm they were. I was able to understand the Japanese curiosity of my travels through her. She was very pleasant and kind. In detail, She informed me of Osaka. We hanged local street in Osaka and dropped by lots nice shops and places to see. If you are looking for communicating with locals, this tour is for it!!

I had a great time during this tour! Tockey took us to some places only locals would know. I definitely saw more unique spots than if I had just stayed in the more touristy areas of Dotonburi or Namba. Since I love to cook and learn about food, I really enjoyed going to the miso shop, meeting the owner, and trying a few samples of the various kinds of his miso.
