Yang akan Anda lakukan
This experience takes you through the Northwest forest on a trail surrounded by moss-covered evergreens, ferns, and native foliage. We'll start at the trailhead and ascend through 4 miles of hard-earned beauty with breaks along the way to eat snacks and soak up our surroundings.
Along the way, I will point out different species of trees and ground plants. Critters are limited, but we may see one of Washington's native Douglas Squirrels, a chipmunk, or a Gray Jay.
At the top, we'll enjoy what nature gives us. On a sunny day, there is a captivating view of Mt Rainier in the distance. On a cloudy day, the mist and fog swirl through the air in an ever-changing shroud. After lunch on the summit we'll begin our descent.
The descent takes us 3.5 miles back down through the forest. Observe the sights and sounds as we descend to the trailhead and back to civilization.
The full hike is 8.0 miles round trip and 3,150 ft of elevation gain. It is enough to be challenging but also able to be accomplished by people exploring the mountains for the first time. It is hard work and well worth the effort!
Other things to note
The hike is challenging, but you can do it! I will be with you along the way to help with any questions or concerns so you can focus on enjoying the experience.

Want to experience the mountains around Seattle, but not sure where to start? I've got your back! I'm an experienced mountaineer and I want to introduce you to the Cascade mountain range. Ten years ago, I moved to Seattle from Michigan (a flat state). I fell in love with the mountains at first sight, but remember what the first few trips were like. Going for a walk here isn't like back home. The elevation, weather, and remoteness are challenging, but the views, the connection with nature, and the meditative calm are entirely worth it. I'd love to be your guide on a Cascade mountain adventure.

Tempat yang akan Anda datangi
We'll be in Mt Si Natural Resources Conservation Area. Mt Si serves as the gateway to the Cascade range when approaching from Seattle. The mountain is frequented by both advanced and novice climbers. It is one of the first mountains I summited upon moving to Seattle and is well regarded by both visitors and locals alike.
