North facing & sunny, it has its own relaxing outdoor bath; cosy wood fire; 5 acres of sub-tropical gardens; private jetty, kayaks & fishing rods & deserted sandy beaches a short paddle downstream at Takou Bay. The cottage is nestled in 150 acres of organic farmland, native bush & river front, 20 minutes from Kerikeri.

The Yurt Wai Rua

The Yurt at Wai Rua, west of Whangarei, is approximately 20 minutes drive from Kamo via Pipiwai Road. It is set in a beautiful tranquil farmland area beside a small lake, which is surrounded by native trees. Watch the native birds, ducks and pukekos whilst sitting on the deck. It has amazing rural views, including massive volcanic rocks. The yurt has a separate kitchen, with a small fridge and gas oven and 2hob burners. The bathroom has a hot water shower and composting toilet.

Cosy coastal escape for two with direct water access- launch your kayak or small boat right from the property or kick back and relax while you enjoy stunning views of Mill Bay. Just a short stroll to the Mangonui Village, shops and cafes, try a local restaurant for dinner or use the BBQ /kitchen facilities. Handy to local beaches such as Coopers Beach and Cable Bay and there are some great walking tracks around the area.
