The Lakeside River House

The cottage lies on the banks of Lake Rousseau. This is a very interesting lake. The lake is fed by the crystal clear waters of the Rainbow Springs system and the dark tannin stained waters of the Withlacoochee River. Back in the 1930's, the water shed was dammed up on its far western edge. The result was a creation of a 12 mile long lake with a river twisting through the center, all of which you will enjoy from your waters edge dock. Come and enjoy the Nature Coast right from the backyard.

The house overlooks a beautiful, quiet cove on a canal that leads to big Lake Henderson. There is a private dock for fishing & relaxing. We are away from the hustle of the big lake and the city, but it's just around the corner if you want it! Honeydew is a very short drive by boat or car to Historic downtown Inverness.

This house is located off the beaten path on a small waterfront lot surrounded by wooded areas giving it a secluded feeling. It is a 10-minute drive to restaurants and shopping. Two kayaks and a canoe are available for guests to explore the Hernando Lake chain right from the backyard. Turner Camp Boat Ramp is also close by providing access to the Withlacoochee River. This is a great place to relax and enjoy nature or be active exploring the areas attractions.
