Only 2 miles from Stornoway ferry terminal and approximately 1.5 miles from the town centre, the pod is situated in front of my own home in the village of Guershader on the outskirts of Stornoway. This is an ideal location if you’re travelling through the Islands and looking for a short stop-over. Looking for a longer stay? Otter Bothy is a small, self contained cabin right on the banks of West Loch Roag, in the village of Carishader, perfectly situated for wildlife, fishing, walking, cycling, surfing and kayaking. Otter Bothy is situated beside Otter Bunkhouse, but offers private accommodation in a small but very cosy cabin, with spectacular views across West Loch Roag. At only a few metres from the shoreline, there aren't many places as close to the water as this! The minimum stay is 2 nights. No dogs.

It takes its name from the two Heron's that nest on the island opposite the pod.

The yurt is a tiny relaxing space . It is situated in Ranish , which is about 8 miles out of Stornoway and although it is at the back of a residential house you will feel like you are out on the crofts that surround it in this rural area of Lewis . The Croft fields around have a mixture of animals , including sheep , goats , geese , ducks & of course chickens , which can be a wee bit vocal at times . We have some very friendly chickens on the property as well .
