Bring your horse to Wisteria cabin for an amazing vacation or, for experienced riders, enjoy riding one of ours. With over 150 acres , miles of trails, and a well stocked private lake you are sure to have an amazing visit! Wisteria has two king bedrooms, each with private bathrooms and patios. Our cabin sits in a quiet cedar grove by a fishing pond with kayaks and fishing poles available. 2 bedrooms with full kitchen with coffee maker, washer and dryer, fireplace, internet, TV and 2 porches with patio furniture and large umbrellas. Electric and gas grills available with outdoor sink for cleaning fish. Attached to hobby farm with goats, ducks, geese, and chickens. More than 50 acres available to roam with 4 ponds. The Big Oak Retreat is a great little getaway close to town but feels so secluded and peaceful. The 2+ acre pond is stocked with bass, bream and catfish. Renovated 1928 cottage on a former asylum campus

Into the macabre? Stay on the campus of what once was the largest mental asylum in the world. Stay in a fully renovated craftsman, 1920's cottage situated on the corner of a large pecan grove, across from the Central State Hospital infirmary. Walking, driving or trolly tours are available to learn all about the history of one of the nation's oldest and largest institutions for the mentally ill. Note: Buildings are closed to the public. There are no tours inside buildings.
