Quiet country surroundings with so much natural beauty. Scandinavian-style modern interior the barn has two levels combining elements of comfort and light. The Birch ply interior, wool carpet and heat pump create a warm and cosy vibe. The Barn is set in a rural landscape overlooking a lovely large pond inhabited by local birdlife. Approx 10-15 mins drive from Dunedin city centre and 3 mins to historic Port Chalmers and some of the best beaches and coastal scenery Otago has to offer all nearby.

Want to stay in a Home away from home? We would love to share our holiday Beach House with you. This spacious home has all the creature comforts of home with the bonus of a beach 5 min walk away. Bike, Walk, Run to the beach and enjoy all it has to offer. 25min Drive to Dunedin. PLEASE NOTE One of the bedrooms is accessed through the master bedroom (this is the room we have set with baby/kid's floor house beds) The second bedroom has a set of bunks - Top bunk only suitable for child/pre teen.

Tatahi Seaside Apartment - Karitane

The apartment is not suitable for young children to stay.Also not suitable for large gatherings. We have a modern self contained apartment on the ground floor where you can fully relax and take in the view of our beautiful beach right on your doorstep . Or pop on your wet suit and go surfing . Parking is no problem. Quirky cafe and shop in walking distance .When walking the beach expect to see our resident sea lions . If you are wanting a day shopping Dunedin is half an hour away.

Shag Point Retreat offers private gardens, a unique base for exploring and also a quiet respite “off the beaten track”. Close by a wide sweeping sandy bay. Or head to the Conservation reserve, a 10 minute walk - coastal views, seals and bird life abounds.

Step Back in Time at a Delightful Karitane Beach House Freshly updated, this retro retreat sits just 50 meters from a safe, white sand beach—perfect for seaside fun. Built for the sun, the home is warm and inviting. The main bedroom has a large window with beach views, and the open-plan living area features wood-paneled walls & beams. Outside, a flat lawn and sealed driveway make a great play space for kids. A full kitchen, laundry, and bathroom and two bedrooms.

Lovely Historic School, Karitane

Our unique stand alone studio is a small, historic, renovated school, close to the village of Karitane. The school has everything you need for a warm, comfortable stay. There are books, a CD player and games for your use. We live in a repurposed sheep shearing shed nearby and both buildings are surrounded by extensive gardens and plantings. There are panoramic views of the very picturesque coast line and out to sea. It is very peaceful and private.

Merton Park farmstay

We are a small self sufficient farm with friendly goats, donkeys, alpacas and cattle. We have free range chickens in the orchard and ducks on the pond. We grow much of our own fruit and vegetables. We have 87 acres of hillside you are welcome to explore. Right on the main road, but peaceful and private, we are only 30 minutes' drive from Dunedin city centre, and 10 minutes from delightful beaches, friendly villages, and a bird sanctuary.

Coastal Soul | Getaway Near Dunedin & Ocean Views

Coastal Soul came into existence when my husband living at home with Alzheimers and I felt I needed to have something else in my life as well. Our little unit/cottage where a family friend had been living became vacant and I had the perfect recipe for looking after my soul, redecorate and give the cottage a new lease in life as well as myself, unfortunately my husband has passed on but his memory will always be part of the cottage.
