The Lakeside River House

The cottage lies on the banks of Lake Rousseau. This is a very interesting lake. The lake is fed by the crystal clear waters of the Rainbow Springs system and the dark tannin stained waters of the Withlacoochee River. Back in the 1930's, the water shed was dammed up on its far western edge. The result was a creation of a 12 mile long lake with a river twisting through the center, all of which you will enjoy from your waters edge dock. Come and enjoy the Nature Coast right from the backyard.

Our original 1970’s cabin sits on the historic Withlacoochee River with breathtaking views. Nothing fancy but very comfortable and clean. Quiet and relaxing. A perfect place to recharge your spirit. A truly wonderful way to enjoy Florida’s Nature coast. Experience this raw and wild river with its abundant wildlife. Close to Rainbow River. The kitchen is stocked with everything you’ll need. Includes Wifi, 2TVs, washer/drier, fire pit, grill, coffee maker. Enjoy sunsets, nature walks, and fishing from the docks. Clean, Clean, Clean! EVERYTHING is washed after each guest including sheets, towels, All blankets, bed comforters, and even decorative pillow cases. All handles, knobs, remotes and shower are sanitized.
