Moongate Cottage - Renovated 18th century cottage

Lovely old small stone cottage recently renovated to a high standard, located in a quiet hamlet within easy reach of the Wye Valley, Hereford and the Marches, Black Mountains and the Forest of Dean. The cottage is surrounded by woodland and nature with walks in every direction from your doorway. The village is accessed from a single track lane and is very rural and peaceful, yet only 4 miles from Monmouth. There are two working farms in the village and farm traffic can just occasionally be busy.

An apartment in this beautiful Grade II listed former coaching inn dating from the 1760s, used as a filmset for productions including Sherlock Holmes and Dr Who. Lord Nelson also stayed here in 1802! Located in the centre of Monmouth adjacent the historic Shire Hall and The Punch House, it is conveniently located for shops, restaurants and theatres. Monmouth, birthplace of Henry V, is on the Offa’s Dyke Path that runs along the Welsh-English border too, providing a perfect base for walkers.

The Garden House is a peaceful stone cottage set in the historic gardens of High Glanau Manor, the home of H. Avray Tipping (1855-1933) the Architectural Editor of Country Life Magazine from 1907. High Glanau Manor is an important Arts & Crafts house set in 12 acres of gardens designed in 1922. The gardens retain many original features including formal terraces, octagonal pool, glasshouse, pergola and 100 ft long double herbaceous borders. There are spectacular views to the Brecon Beacons

Pat's Flat - peaceful stay on a beautiful farm.

Pat's Flat: a converted Pig Barn located on a peaceful farm, within the beautiful Wye Valley AONB. The historic towns of Monmouth and Ross on Wye, the river and Forest of Dean with their outdoor leisure activities - canoeing, paddle boarding, hiking, biking - are easily accessible. A couple of pubs, eateries and village shop are within a few miles walk. Sorry - no pets - this is a working farm and there are friendly Labradors in the adjoining property who are likely to come and say hello.

Other features include oak flooring, log burner, patio & seating, BBQ & firepit. Hot tub hire is an option for a fee. The barn has an EV charger.
