Period cottage, cosy sittingroom individual host

Self contained part of charming thatched cottage in this attractive South Oxfordshire village, between Didcot (2.5 miles) and Wallingford (3.5 miles). The accommodation has its own entrance, sitting room - with inglenook fireplace (only use electric fire provided) - and steep, winding stairs leading to the large bedroom with vaulted ceiling and superking bed. Guests will have sole use of the adjoining bathroom. Period features also include low beams, but rule out a shower. Not for children.

Castle Loft, Central Wallingford

Wallingford was once home to one of the strongest and most important castles in England. In 1067 William the Conqueror instructed the building of the castle on his way to London to take the throne. In 1502 Henry VIII inherited the castle. On 17 November 1652 Cromwell’s Council of State ordered its demolition, making way for this newly built loft apartment within the castle boundary. Just 3 minutes walk from shops bars and restaurants, downstairs shower & cloakroom, gas central heating and WIFI.

The studio is situated on a quiet private road overlooking an area of outstanding natural beauty, within easy walking distance to the riverside village of Goring-on-Thames. The self-contained studio is on two floors, which is bright, airy and furnished well with a private entrance. You can get fantastic views at the top of the garden and, better still, from the top field. We have some lovely pubs and a great farm shop selling local produce. And Oxford is only 15 mins away!

Peaceful and private it is brilliantly located for tranquil walks, or exploring the history of nearby Wallingford or Oxford. Airy and spacious, the cottage is well equipped and modern. The Lodge at River Acres in Moulsford is just the place to reset, relax and forget all your worries. Set in beautiful grounds, with the River Thames at the end of the lawn. Sit and relax by the river with a glass of wine, watching the boats go by and looking out for wildlife. Free fresh eggs from our own chickens are provided for your breakfast. We have our own tennis court for you to play on at no extra cost, and we loan raquets and balls.

Didcot Parkway railway station only 4 minutes walk away offers trains to London (39 minutes ) Oxford (15 minutes ) Bath ( 48 minutes ) Bristol (63 minutes), as well as buses to Milton Park, Harwell Campus, Oxford and surrounding towns . Short walk to town for restaurants, and shopping. Private parking and access to the lodge.
