Ama Om's Homestay(Bhutanese Farm Stay )

Tucked away in the village of Jawana (which means the village beneath the cliff), about 20 min drive through a farm road from the main road near Punakha Dzong is a Bhutanese treasure called Aum Wangmo Homestay. The 5-acre farm has been in Aum Wangmo’s family for about 200 years, since her great-great-grandfather’s time. Well maintained, the farmhouse has been repaired, extended and renovated to house two modern toilets/bathrooms and five rooms to accommodate 10 tourists comfortably.

‘Panorama’ where the last King of Burma’s second daughter spent an idyllic life in exile from 1947 onwards. She lived here with her husband till April 4, 1956.
