Beautiful views across the farm to see the animals:Reindeer, Emu, Ostrich, Rhea, Llama, Camels & Alpaca.

'Unexpected Cottage', a Fenland rural retreat

Detached large yet cosy 2 bedroom house in a hamlet in North Cambridgeshire, bordering Norfolk & Lincolnshire. 1 double bed & 2 single beds. Lounge, dining room & compact yet functional kitchen. 1 downstairs bathroom (towels NOT provided). This is an old farm cottage, and as such is quirky & a bit wonky! Secluded rear garden has a barbecue & outdoor furniture, but paths are quite uneven. Local pub within walking distance. Between Wisbech, the Capital of the Fens & March. 40 miles to the coast.

Pea Cottage is 5 miles from Stamford, one of the prettiest market towns in the country.

In the churchyard, neighbouring the award winning and brilliant Railway Inn, this 18th century Ketton stone cottage is a very special place to come and stay with friends and family. We have the Rutland Vineyard, a village stores, it is near Rutland Water, there are fab local walks, a great food scene, and there is Burghley House in Stamford, “England’s most attractive town” according to John Betjeman. For me, it is like the Loire and Cotswold towns, but friendlier and with fewer Range Rovers.

Built in 1634, the Barn is on the edge of a village 5m from Market Harborough in Leicestershire. Converted in 2017, it's on our property but separate from it. Light and airy, it's one room/open plan downstairs, with areas for cooking, dining and relaxing. French doors lead out onto a pretty courtyard garden, with stone steps up to a raised area, where you can watch the sunset over the fields. Upstairs there's a well-equipped bedroom and bathroom with far reaching views over the countryside.

Our guests praise the luxurious accommodation, the comfortable beds, the stylish but cosy decor and the thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers, a basket of local produce and the welcome drinks. The property was fully renovated in March 2021 and is the ideal getaway location to explore everything that stunning Rutland has to offer. The cottage is only 5 minute drive to Rutland Water, Uppingham and Oakham, so you have everything you wish to experience during your stay on your doorstep. Historic Stamford is also only 20 mins away.
