NO NIGHTS: 2018 dates open now. Lovely freshly painted beach hut on sandy sea front with appeal for all ages. Close free parking, 200 metres loos/tap. Gas rings, grill, glasses, cutlery, etc washing bowl, kettle, picnic table, chairs, sun loungers. Early booking advised!
Enjoy a blissful day at the traditional seaside town of Frinton-on-Sea, with the comfort of a beach hut. Beloved by families, for its sandy beach which is ideal for sandcastles, sunbathing or a game of rounders, and also by adults who wish to enjoy the sea air with the added comfort of a base from which to have a cup of freshly made tea whilst lying back and reading a book, without ever having to get onto the sand if you prefer!
The hut is well equipped … as beach huts go! It has all the crockery and cutlery a group of 6 will need, and unlike most huts, it has a gas hob and grill so that as long as you are happy to leave it immaculate, you can warm up a pizza or make spaghetti, boiled eggs or fry some bacon! Alternatively you can stop and buy pizza or fish and chips in the traditional beach town 1/4 mile away, where there also typical holiday shops selling buckets, spades, surf boards, windbreaks and so on.
However tidy everyone is, there will be a hint of sand. It's a beach hut. Please don't then give us a poor review because the floor wasn't as well hoovered as your own sitting room! Please, please note: It is a beach hut!
There is a steep sloped road down to the hut which is not not necessarily suitable for wheelchair users (although we have a regular visitor in a wheelchair who adores it). There are 5 steps up to the hut. IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIFIC NEEDS, PLEASE ASK BEFORE YOU BOOK! Many thanks.
There are 4 chairs, a picnic and small serving table, 2 very good sun loungers, a bench and a window seat so that you can sit cosily inside the hut with the "stable door" open and look out.
Even in drizzle or in winter, my family have enjoyed hours playing board games inside the hut with hot chocolate or fish and chips. It is one of those places people return to again and again, with special memories being made there.
The beach hut is locked with 3 padlocks, each on a code which we will give you the day before you go to the hut as it changes regularly. This means that you have complete freedom to go at a time to suit you - no need to pick keys up at a certain point or time as most huts require.
The hut is available from dawn to dusk on a daily basis BUT NOT OVERNIGHT as council rules forbid it. Because of this, please be clear about the way the booking is described: For example, f your booking is for 2 nights from a Friday, the site will say that the checkout is on Sunday but in fact, it is 2 DAYS - Friday and Saturday. New guests will arrive on Sunday at dawn!
You can check on tides and weather by following the links given below.
Please note that I have had to list £31 as the price but that is a high season price, and there are cheaper days available according to seasons.
IMPORTANT: I have had to list a bunk bed as this is the closest option I was given to what is available for a good sleep! There are two very comfortable sun loungers, which I can assure you are excellent for a daytime sleep! However, there is no proper bed, hence no linen.
This part of the beach is DOG FREE from April to October - please don't book it, take your dog, and then complain that your dog couldn't go on the beach!
The beach huts in Frinton-and-Sea vary a little, depending on whereabouts the hut is. Some are on stilts, some are in rows, but ours is one of a single line which gives the easiest access, a less crowded beach, a boundary wall between the hut and the beach for safety for small children whilst having lunch and so on, close to free parking and not too far from the loo.
The sand is very good for sandcastle making and digging, and the sea is paddling or bathing. The waves aren't too big, and my children, not the most robust when it comes to swimming, seem to always get in when we go!
You can play Badminton on the beach, or other ball games, or just relax outside the hut itself on one of our very comfortable reclining chairs and enjoy the view and ambiance of a very traditional English beach town.

Taken from TripAdvisor: One of our local beaches and the best. Ultra clean, lovely sand and plenty of room. Oozes character with all of its quirky beach huts. Take a packed lunch as there are no handy shops (10min walk into town). Would choose this beach over Walton.
Sleeping overnight in the beach huts at Frinton is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN by the council.
Our hut is very good value compared with many others. One thing we ask, in keeping with all hut owners, is that you leave everything washed, dried and put away, all surfaces wiped, the hut swept out, and the gas turned off, so that it is ready for the next guests. This really doesn't take a minute, but keeps our fees to a minimum. If we have to clean up after you, there may be a charge at cost for this.
Please take a plastic bag for your rubbish.
Please note that we will contact you a couple of days before your booking with full location details, directions, details about access, parking, and the code to the padlocks so that you don't have to pick up keys.
Please do let me know how your day was in a private message - this really helps me, particularly if there is any problem at all. We want to look after you!
Finally, please be CERTAIN to lock the hut up again very securely. Thank you.
We have never been let down yet, but f you arrive to a less than immaculate beach hut, please do let me know immediately. Thank you.
Chisholm's is the cottage wing of our family house, so although you will have complete peace and be totally self-contained, there are always people around; us, our three very civilised offspring (17-10) and the people who help us. We are a relaxed, cheerful lot, and have a very busy life with horses, hens and a gentle, friendly dog.
We want you to have the best time imaginable, and the garden and so on are big enough for all of us to enjoy whilst respecting each other's privacy at all times. Your well-behaved dog is welcome, although we ask that he doesn't go on furniture or upstairs, and that he stays on a lead in the garden.
You are very welcome to use the pool, tennis court, beach hut (35 mins away) and trampoline by arrangement (all entirely at your own risk) and we can probably lay our hands on a Rectory bike or two, if required! Just outside your front door is the biggest Gingko tree outside Kew Gardens, and you can walk down to the 2 lakes where you might spot our kingfisher, or heron, or the owls.
We want Chisholm's to be a blissfully comfortable, spoiling place for you to enjoy so we have really carefully chosen beds, wonderfully soft towels, gorgeous linen, properly powerful showers, and personal touches, as if you were our friends coming for a special stay with us.
There are all sorts of things to see and do in the area with Colchester and Sudbury a few miles away, Bury St Edmunds 45 minutes and Newmarket an hour away. Chisholm's has a file which will give you plenty of local information of any number of great things to see and do, as well as local restaurants and pubs.
If there is anything we can do to improve your visit, please just ask (nicely!) and we will do our very best to help. If there is anything you'd like to know in advance, or special requests, again, please just ask.
