Stay here and see how Duck used to be! Our neighborhood features century-old live oaks and gravel roads. The home is one of the oldest beach houses in Duck, but has many recent updates. Just 260 yards from the ocean and miles away from the crowds.
This home is one of the oldest in Duck. The Town of Duck was a duck hunting village before becoming a summer beach destination and this home was used by those hunters before the area was built up with larger vacation homes and reversed floor plans. Although the house retains the coziness of times gone by, it has many upgrades, including new HVAC and windows, to ensure your comfort.
The main level has a great room with plenty of seating, dining table, and kitchen.
There are two downstairs bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with two twins. There is a shared bath on the first floor.
At the top of the stairs you enter the bunk room, which has the shared bath. Guests walk through the bunk room to the larger bedroom with the queen bed and upper deck access.
We are located along the 9 mile multi-use path that is very popular with joggers and bikers and runs straight though the village of Duck. A beach cart, chairs, umbrellas, and grill are available and bikes can be rented in town.

Be kind to our neighbors and keep the noise down at night.
I live just a block away, so I am available to guests on an as-needed basis. I usually try to meet guests at check-in/check-out and I'm happy to give local recommendations and can provide information as needed.
I love to travel and experience new places! I became an Airbnb host in 2015 after deciding to be a stay-at-home mom to our two small children, and now am host to three properties in our neighborhood, so I am usually available to interact with our guests. I have always enjoyed working in hospitality, but really developed a love for hosting during my eight years spent traveling and working in lodges in Costa Rica and Panama. These lodges each offered something unique and personal to the guests' experience that I had never experienced before, and that I try to offer for our Airbnb guests.
