Save time and effort putting up your tent and come and stay in our beautiful Pods - perfect for groups and families. This pod is empty inside - perfect for your own camping mats and sleeping bags for a rustic camping feeling indoors.

We have 3 beautiful wooden camping pods, set looking up directly at the McGillycuddy Reek mountains. The Pods are based at Cronin’s Yard, the traditional starting point for climbing Carrauntoohil, and guests can avail of all the facilities at the Yard including the open fire at the Tea Rooms, the shower rooms and bathrooms.

DIY catering and BBQ facilities are available for guests.

Come stay for a night or a weekend, and start off your walk up Carrauntoohill by waking up to look out your window to see the Devil’s Ladder and the Hag’s Tooth.

On return from a day in the mountains come into the Tea Rooms for soup or hot chocolate and a nice hot shower and sit by the open fire.

Pods are very spacious, waterproof, and windproof. Bathroom and shower facilities (showers work on a coin meter) are available in the main yard, alongside the private car park.

This Pod are priced at €20 per guest.

Together with my wife Esther we run traditional Tea Rooms, Camping, Pods and a beautiful restored cottage right here at the foot of Ireland's highest mountain.
