Experience a serene getaway! Comfortable home in a small village in the foothills of the Catskills. The house is situated in a valley, on the Catskill Creek adjacent to Bayard Elsbree Memorial Park. It has been continuously owned by the same family since built in 1881.
Maintained and updated through the years, there has been an effort to retain the original character and integrity of the house. The wrap- around front porch is delightful for cocktails or just to sit, read and contemplate. The 1950’s vintage kitchen is spacious and equipped with all you need. Eat in the formal dining room or in the kitchen. There is a park right next door with a nice kids area and baseball diamond. The creek out back is fun for wading and catching crawfish.
4 Bedrooms; 1 1/2 bathrooms; spacious kitchen and dining room, living room, plus surrounding grounds which include a barn/garage and the original outhouse. The full bath upstairs is shared by all bedrooms and is very functional, not fancy. The home is furnished with vintage and antique furniture. Mattresses have all been recently replaced as have the linens.
Internet is provided. There is also a land line for local and long-distance (we will charge for long-distance calls) as cell phone reception can be spotty.
You'll have access to the entire house and property.

Like most homes of the period, the house was built on the main street which is a two- lane country Hwy. 145, so there is some traffic noise day and night.
The home is a much-beloved multi-generational home, so we'd love it treated as you would your own family home. Absolutely no smoking and no pets.
I am a self-employed therapist residing in Carmel, California. I was born in Preston Hollow and spent every summer in this house. The house was built by my great grandfather's family and has been in the family ever since. I enjoy biking, walking, gardening, reading, bird watching, and traveling. I have had the good fortune to travel to many places including Japan, India, Costa Rica, China, Israel, Morocco, Spain, Sweden, England, France, Scotland, and others. I enjoy the people I meet along the way and look forward to giving back to share Preston Hollow with you.
