Ideal for families and groups.
Close to Barcelona the property is a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom, independent first floor apartment with spectacular views of Montserrat and surroundings. It accommodates up to 8 guests. Children are welcome. You can park and ride to Barcelona by train. Car parking in Gelida railway station is free.
This accommodation is perfect for families and cultural tourism. 33 minutes by train to Barcelona Sants and 37 minutes to Plaza Cataluña. Ideal for families the accommodation has beautiful views, is extremely sunny and each bedroom has access to a private balcony. The property is located in a dead end (cul de sac) contributing to the absolute quiet of this retreat located in the Penedès wine and cava (Catalan champagne) growing region. Local visits to the Codorniu and Freixenet champagnery and the Torres winery are a must. In addition the accommodation is located 600m above sea level offering sensational views of the entire region on 3 sides of the property. In front you can see Montserrat mountain (a visit to the Monastery is another must), behind you can see Gelida castle. This castle and many others in the region provide testimony to the fact that the region was the frontier between the Christian and Moslem world for more than 200 years. We recommend you get about by car. You can get to the outskirts of Barcelona in 30 minutes or seaside resorts like Sitges on the Cost Dorada in a little more time. The weather here in summer is hot (normally around 30C). However, because of the altitude (600m above sea level) and surrounding forests the heat is normally dry. There is a cool wind which comes off the mountain in the afternoon. The best way to get here is by private car. Going out of Barcelona (35 km) or Barcelona airport (40km) in the direction of Tarragona along the AP 7 motorway. We'll give you detailed directions once you have made your booking.
The accommodation includes a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, TV and Interrnet

I normally give our guests a short tour of Gelida to visitors to show them where the services, shops and municipal swimming pool are located.
Hal lain yang perlu diperhatikan
This property is located in a very privileged area surrounded by forests a few hundred metres above sea level. Many people still keep a second home in this area to escape the summer heat in the city of Barcelona.
In the afternoon there is a strong wind which comes down from the mountain. Please be sure to close all the balcony doors and windows to avoid door slamming and possible damage. Tourist information is placed in the entrance to the flat. Once you have read the information, please return it. We would encourage you to leave information and brochures you don't need for other guests.
Born in London I have lived in and around Barcelona for the last 28 years. I am self-employed. In Spanish they say that self-employed people haven´t got the time or can´t afford to be ill. Well, that´s me!!!
I enjoy playing sport especially rugby and swimming in the sea. I have travelled fairly extensively in Europe, but came to the conclusion some time ago that the best places to visit are Spain and the south of France.
My appetite for junk food has been ruined as I have got older. Once you start eating good food it´s difficult to go back. The same with wine.
If you are interested, we can recommend good restaurants and wineries which offer a free tasting in the region.
