THe Garth has walks straight from the door, many waterfalls to see, family-friendly activities such as horse riding, mountain biking, Richmond castle, limestone caves, historic railway and leadmines. The village pub and bistro/tea-rooms are only 50 yards from the cottage door. You’ll love our place because of the fantastic panoramic views from all rooms of the cottage, the light and ambience, the people and outdoor space. It is a lovely place to stay for couples and families with kids.
The Garth is a spacious bungalow with a paved patio, enjoying glorious views of the Dales. It’s decorated and equipped to a high standard with central heating and an open fire, a large lounge, three light, airy bedrooms: a superkingsized bedroom and 2 twin rooms, a dining kitchen, roomy bathroom with bath and shower cubicle as well as a separate WC room, a paved patio and a garage with games table.
The Garth is situated in Gunnerside Village,off the main road through the village.When entering from the east/having come via Reeth and Low Row it is on the left about 50 Yards into the village.Turn Left just in front of Dalegarth House B+B you will find The Garth behind The school House.
Guests have exclusive access to the house, south facing patio and adjoining garage/games room. The property is accessed via the front door with one step leading to a porch, or through the garage door that is linked to the house.
Parking: There is off road parking for one car in front of The Garth’s gate. Please park in the designated spot to allow room for neighbours’ cars. Any additional cars can be parked in the village square about 100 yards from the property.
Keys: With the confirmation of your booking, we will provide you with the contact information for our caretaker.

The caretaker can be contacted by phone. She is often out at properties but will pick up messages left on the answering machine and return calls.She will let you know how to collect the key to get into the house.

Mobile reception is not very reliable in the area. EE (and any associated networks) seems to get signal in the house but other networks struggle. There is a public phone in the village.
Please note there is NO WIFI in the house.
There is plenty of room in the garage to stores bikes indoors.
Please note we provide a starter package of firelighters and kindling and plenty of coal.
The cottage is adjacent to Pretoria Cottage, another property we let out that sleeps 4.
