Spend your next vacation relaxing at Wildcat Bluff, a private wilderness retreat in the Susquehanna Riverlands. Unique to our area, Wildcat Bluff offers guests the adventure and solitude of the woods and river, with the comfort and amenities of an airy, fully furnished home whose design and decor complement the stunning natural landscape.
Situated high on a ridgeline in the Hellem Hills of York County, Wildcat Bluff boasts unmatched views of the lower Susquehanna River Valley and surrounding forest. Our beautiful 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom home features an updated kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher, dining area, breakfast nook, a semi-private den with closing glass doors and a queen sized pull out bed, two furnished decks, large windows throughout affording spectacular views from the ridge, a large great room and 2 large screen 4k televisions, with satellite TV programming and wifi available for your use. Our home is ideal for 2-4 guests (the house itself is spacious, but we recommend bringing an air-mattress if there are going to be more than 4 guests). Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the deck and wait for the stars to come out. As you wake in the morning, take in the sunrise from your bed. Our home is comfortably furnished and comes stocked with linens, books, games, birding and wildlife watching gear and other items to make your stay both adventure-ready and relaxing. All that’s missing is you. You only need to pack some clothes, toiletries, groceries and a pair of hiking boots.
Step outside the front door and discover what truly makes this place special. From your front door, a trail takes you immediately onto 500-acres of adjacent natural woodlands, which the Lancaster County Conservancy’s currently stewards and is in the process of acquiring. Follow the trail further into the woods, as it takes you under towering beech trees and alongside cool mountain streams. Enjoy the peaceful forest sounds, tranquility and solitude of this spectacular natural landscape.
The rental includes the first and second floors of the home, including the decks and outdoor spaces. You are welcome to explore the adjacent natural woodlands. Please note that there is a caretaker’s apartment in the basement unit. The caretaker is on site should you have questions or issues during your stay. They have private access to their unit and should not disturb you during your stay, but may be available to answer questions about the area.
All of the spices, condiments and other items provided in the kitchen are for your use. We only ask that if you are the last person to use an item, to please replace it.
