Bright, modern and cosy one bedroom apartment with stunning views of Edinburgh Castle which can be seen from every window. Situated in the heart of old historic Edinburgh within walking distance of all city centre attractions. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. There are only 8 steps on the way into this apartment so this apartment works well for guests who are mobile but find stairs challenging.

The apartment is in a super central location, just two minutes from the Grassmarket with its cosmopolitan variety of cafes, bars, restaurants and quirky boutiques. A 10 minute walk will bring you to our famous Princes Street and its gardens. Many of the museums, galleries and attractions in Edinburgh city centre and the Royal Mile are also an easy stroll away. The apartment is located at the back of the building, away from the bustle of the main street. It is part of a gated community, with entry by code. There are only 8 steps to reach this apartment making it suitable for those who find a lot of steps difficult.

This comfortable apartment comprises of a spacious living room, a separate fitted kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom with a walk in shower and 2 grab rails. There are spectacular views of the Castle from the bedroom and the kitchen which allow you to appreciate its grandeur. The Castle and the spires of the Royal Mile can be seen from the other three windows too.

There is electric heating throughout. The living room has a big two seater sofa ( this can be available as a single sofa bed by prior arrangement), extendable dining table with seating for three, and flat screen TV. Unlimited wifi is available. The bedroom has a king size bed (queen size in the US), mirrored wardrobe with plenty of hanging space, hairdryer and alarm clock. In the kitchen you will find all the utensils that you need for cooking your own food, plus basics like salt, pepper, cooking oil. Tea, coffee and sugar are all provided. A cot and high chair can be provided on request at a cost of £10 for one item and £15 for both. This apartment sleeps 2- 3 comfortably for short and long stays. The double bed is king size and the sofa bed is a generous single size at 4 ft wide (133 cm).

The apartment is an ideal base a city break, romantic getaway, business trip or visiting the university. There are good public transport links with one bus stop about 10 metres from the building entrance and many more within 10 minutes walk. There is a good supermarket just 5 minutes away with a good choice of food. Every Saturday, there is a Farmer's Market on Castle Terrace where you can buy lovely Scottish meat, fish, fruit and vegetable. This is also a good option for an al fresco lunch. Directly opposite the apartment is The Coffee Mill, run by the gregarious Gino, where you can have breakfast, lunch or a cup of tea. A couple of doors down is L'Etoile, run by the charming Nobel and serving both British and French food. And just 5 minutes away is one of the best cake shops in Edinburgh - Lovecrumb. A perfect place for a coffee and cake.

The Grassmarket is in the historic centre of Edinburgh and is home to numerous restaurants, cafes, Scottish pubs and boutiques selling antiques, books, cashmere, period clothes and much more. Restaurants in the pedestrianised areas allow for outdoor eating and drinking within the proximity of the Castle with Festival and tourist venues all around.

The area is steeped in history. Notoriously the Grassmarket was the site for public executions, a memory reflected in the naming of the Last Drop pub: the name refers both to drops of drink and to the drop from the gallows. During the summer the place comes alive with street performers, musicians and special events. A quick stroll will take you up to the Royal Mile and the Castle or along to Princes Street through its lovely gardens. Don't miss Victoria Street, one of the most charming streets in the city, with its colourful mix of shops, restaurants, cafés and bars; it curves up from the Grassmarket to George IV Bridge. Hi, I own and manage the one bedroom apartments shown here and manage the larger apartment so am personally involved in making sure guests have a comfortable stay. I have been doing this now for a number of years with 4-5 stars from all my guests. I myself am an avid renter of self catering for holidays with my family.

I believe you should have everything in an apartment you need except food if you are there for a weekend, so I provide everything from toilet paper to tinfoil. For longer stays, you may have to purchase/replace these items.

I enjoy meeting guests if possible and am contactable, but very much leave guests to enjoy their holiday after the initial contact unless a guest wants more. If I am out of town myself, you will have another local contact point.
