This is a self contained unit and guests have full independence from the main house (which does contain a friendly cat and dog (at the weekends) and my housemates!).
Unfortunately I am bi-located in Dublin a lot of the time so I have a housekeeper help with check-in when I am away. I am always on call though for any problems or queries and in addition to the housekeeper there is property manager nearby at all times too for emergencies or help.
Hal lain yang perlu diperhatikan
This cottage is ideal for families, couples, or someone just wanting to get away from it all.
It is very easy to find thanks to the bright white fence and we are the first house on the left after Reengaroga crossroads.
Pets are allowed, however the garden is not secure.
We have a nice variety of bird life including a local kestrel, many types of finch, blackbirds, doves and sea birds too.
One important thing to note is that the rural broadband service is not brilliant and can be very unreliable. I'm working with the provider to try and improve it and there is a back-up mobile wifi network in the meantime.
Please read (and print if possible) the directions to the house fully before arrival. They are in your itinerary, and will save a lot of time if examined carefully. (Phone coverage is spotty in the area, so you may not be able to consult online whilst travelling)
No smoking in the building itself please. Seats provided outside.
Wood burning stove is for wood or briquettes only (no coal), please don't burn your rubbish in it.
The electricity costs are currently included in the price and operate on a trust system that you won't be silly with with leaving lights and heaters on all the time. Please consider your energy usage when in the cottage, both for the earth and my bills. We've plenty of extra duvets and blankets in the main house for very cold nights so please feel free to ask for them if you are uncomfortable or the heaters and stove are not enough.
I would especially ask that you make sure the bedroom electric heaters are unplugged if you are out during the day and that the outside light is turned off before going to bed.
Likewise please try to recycle and compost your waste as much as possible.
As there is no extractor fan in the bathroom don't forget to open the door or window a little to let the room dry out after long showers!

I love making places as homely, comfortable and welcoming as possible as I know the inconvenience of a noisy pipe or an awkward plug!
(I also enjoy gardening)
West Cork is the most amazing place in the world to live, scenery, sea and friendliness = fantastic!
