The cottage has six bedrooms and three fire places. It is filled with family treasures, ( at least to us ) . The lake is ideal for swimming and canoeing. The cottage is quite secluded and very private. It is spacious for a family to spread out. It is our family cottage. We share our space as it is, filled with family games, and cottage stuff!
There is a dock for your enjoyment and safe swimming for young children. With a south west exposure, you will enjoy the afternoon sun on the dock, with not another cottage in sight. There are lots of things to see and experience in the surrounding area. The cottage is situated half way between the town of Haliburton, where you can enjoy the Haliburton School of Fine Arts and Bancroft. Algonquin Park is a short drive away.
Private cottage on a small lake, surrounded by Crown Land. Very quiet and enjoyable for a family get away.

Hal lain yang perlu diperhatikan
In the winter, there is one 4 piece bathroom that is operational. There is central heating in the main part of the cottage. There is a another section with three bedrooms that are heated with baseboard heaters and an airtight wood stove.
Guests are required to bring their own bedding and towels. As well, please bring in your own firewood for a campfire if you plan to have one.
In the Winter, it is strongly advised that guests plan on using an AWD vehicle to get into the cottage. The road is cleared but it is hilly. It is a cottage road. It can be unpredictable, depending on the weather.
There is no smoking allowed in the cottage. If you smoke, please make sure your butts are picked up and disposed safely when you leave. All garbage must be removed when you leave. Thanks so much
I hope your stay at our cottage is a very memorable one for you. It is a special place for us and we treat our guests like family. You need to be completely comfortable while you send some very special time away with your family and friends. To help make sure you enjoy your time here, I have developed a list a few things that are important for everyone's enjoyment. Some things will be totally obvious to you so please ignore since they don't apply to you! If you are not familiar with cottage life, we hope this information is helpful.
1.When we leave the cottage, we leave it the way we would like to find it next time. It is important that each of our guests do the same so that our friends that come next, will find it the same way. There is central vac to help with the clean up and there are cleaning supplies under the sink to clean the bathrooms and sinks.
2. Please make sure that you remove prepared food from the fridge and that all garbage and recyclables are removed. There is a dump card on the fridge. The dump is open on Saturday , Sunday and Wednesday. If you leave at a different time, you will need to take it home with you. All garbage needs to be sorted. The paper products must be separated from cans and bottles.. You need to use clear, see through garbage bags. The dump is located, just west of Wilberforce on the way to Tory Hill. Please don't leave any garbage outside at the cottage. There are bears around and we don't want to attract them!!
3.Please feel free to use some of the staples that are here and replace if they are used up. The fridge needs to be left clean with no prepared food left in it. There is a coke cooler on the porch that is great for putting cold drinks in. It saves space in the fridge as well!
Please try to return the pots, pans and other kitchen appliances where you found them. It helps to keep things a little more organized for the next person.
4.Noise As you know, noise carries over water! Often when you think the music is not too loud, your neighbours may think differently. If you would like to have some music when you are on the dock, please take a small I pod and speakers down with you. Likewise, if you are disturbed by your neighbours music, please go over and speak to them. By working together, we all enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake and wilderness.
5.CampFires It is against the law to have a fire during daylight hours. Depending on the year, there could be a total ban. Please check to make sure what the status is. If a fire is permissible, it must never be left unattended.
Please do not cut live trees for firewood, nor remove bark off the birch to start a fire. This has happened and it is very disturbing. The trees can be permanently damaged by removing the bark. To ensure you have the wood you need, should you want a fire, please bring your own wood and kindling.
6.Waterfront Please do not take glass or mugs down to the lake. If you use any water craft, you must wear a life jacket that fits properly. Please bring your own life jacket to ensure that the size is right for you and your guests.
Please remember that there is no diving off the dock!. There is a large stone to the left and the water across the front of the dock is not deep enough for diving.
7.BBQ The lighter on the BBQ does not work very well. Please use a bbq lighter and be careful that you don't turn the gas on before you have the lighter flame going. When you are finished, please turn the tank off first , followed by the knobs on the burners.
8.Septic System. The cottage is on a septic system. It is absolutely critical that no paper products (other than toilet paper ) are ever flushed down the toilets. They will clog up the system resulting in major repair.
9.The cottage is smoke free. If you or your guests smoke, please use the porch or outside and collect all butts. Thanks so much.
10.Please do not bath in the lake with soap or shampoo. The lake is spring feed and very clean.
11.The tap water is great for drinking. It comes from a drilled well, through granite.
12.We have a family of loons on the lake. People like to canoe close to them to get a good look but it puts the birds in a lot of distress. They start calling in a very frantic way. If you see anyone doing this, please speak to them and as them not to. Our neighbours all feel the same and will not hesitate to ask people not to bother them.
13.The cottage does not have AC. The main part of the cottage has ceiling fans throughout. If it is hot outside, the main cottage will stay fairly cool but keeping the windows closed and opening the basement door. It is very well insulated.
14.The cottage road is gravel. It has some steep parts. It is very easy to navigate but please drive slowly as many people enjoy walking on the road and it is often not easy to see people as you approach.
15.It is our family cottage as you know. This means that it is “lived in" Lots of family possessions are around. It is a different experience than checking into a hotel room or a vacation property that has had all owner belongings removed. I hope that you enjoy the at home feeling that this can create.
We provide complete information and a lease for your review, should you be interested.
