Number 8 is a newly renovated Victorian end of terrace house in the heart of Amble. A stones throw from the bustling harbour, marina and stunning Northumberland coastline.

Large comfortable sofas and a cosy wood burning stove ensure the property is as welcoming in winter as it is in summer. Amble is such a great venue for fine restaurants on your doorstep and is the perfect base for exploring historic Northumberland

Tempat
Number 8 is a renovated Victorian terrace house new to the market for 2021. The décor is stylish, cool and contemporary embracing its Victorian period features with a subtle nod to its coastal location and ticks every box from your Northumberland self-catering ‘staycation-by-the-sea’ wish-list.

The cottage sleeps up to eight guests in three bedrooms, we are dog friendly and welcome up to two well behaved dogs and would suit families, couples or a group of friends.

However, we would like to make clear that the bed configuration is to suit our families need’s. Bearing that in mind we feel that the house lends itself to accommodate two families with children in the bunk room, four adults / four children.

We are very happy to accept eight adults but need to stress that there are bunk beds and having eight adults in the house would be a little tight.

We have the option of shutting off the bunk room and therefore could offer a rate discount on a lower occupancy.

The Friendliest Port - Amble is a bustling fishing town and working port situated just one mile south of Warkworth Village, on the Coastal Route through Northumberland.

People like to be based in Amble as it is one of the few places on the Northumberland coast where you have no need to get in the car, everything is on your doorstep.
With a good range of small, mostly independent shops, including a great little artisan bakery, excellent butchers, local seafood bought straight from the harbour, a superb Italian and an Indian restaurant, award-winning seafood restaurants and one of the best traditional fish and chip shops in the North East on the quayside, it’s a fascinating little fishing port.

Within five minutes you can walk to Little Shore Beach with its row of pretty pastel coloured beach huts that you can rent from the Harbour Master for a round £20.00 per day. Two minute’ s walk from Number 8 will take you to The Braid which is a grass area ideal for walking dogs which runs adjacent to Amble Marina and continues along the footpath past Cocquet Yacht Club towards the village of Warkworth with its impressive castle.

There’s a local Sunday market held every week on the old quayside, which is lovely to wander around as well as a little ‘Harbour Village’ with tiny boutique-style independent shops operating out of pods resembling old fishermens’ huts.

There is a decent sized Co-Op and a Tesco express on Queen Street and a larger Morrison’s supermarket on the edge of town. Sainsburys do deliver groceries to Number 8 should that be of interest.

The views from the quayside are spectacular – of the estuary, impressive Warkworth Castle, Coquet Island and of course the beautiful sea, and the walk along the harbour front to the interesting Marina is just lovely – follow it with lunch or dinner in one of the super little eateries on the quayside and you’ll truly feel a ‘sense of place’.

PARKING
Outside to the front of Number 8 we have one private parking space, there is ample on street parking on the surrounding streets if you have more than one car.

ENTRANCE HALL
Typical Victorian entrance hall with original encaustic tiles and wooden floorboards, complete with original stained glass door. Plentiful coat hooks and understair's cupboard housing child safety gates, high chair etc.

LOUNGE
The lounge has two brand new, three seat sofas and a love seat that can accommodate two people. Thus meaning we can really only comfortably sit seven guests. There is an antique pine coffee table, Smart TV with Netflix, foot stools, selection of board games and local reference books.

DINING ROOM
The entrance hall leads into the dining room which has a dining table and seating for eight guests. There is a cupboard filled with glass ware and a dresser containing crockery and tableware. We have a novelty hat wall which injects some fun into dinner parties!

KITCHEN
The kitchen is a typical Victorian compact galley kitchen but is fully equipped with oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle and a full size dishwasher and wine rack. There is plenty of cooking equipment, serve ware and glassware for your self catering stay.

DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM
Entered from the end of the kitchen is a downstairs WC and a small bath ( 1500mm long ) At present this is only a bath / WC / Sink and is small so suitable for children or small adults. We are going to change this to a walk in shower later in 2021.

COURTYARD
The courtyard has a rattan corner sofa which seats six people and a separate dining table and bench’s that will seat another six people. The washing machine is in the out house for guests use. There is a gas BBQ and cooking utensils available.

STAIRCASE
There are two stairgates available for using with children or dogs.

KING SIZED BEDROOM
King Sized bed with chest of drawers and bed side table. Clothes hanging on the back of the door. Feather duvet and pillows.

TWIN ROOM
Pair of full size twin beds, full size wardrobe, bedside cabinet shared and chest of drawers.
Feather Duvet and Pillows.

BUNK ROOM
Two sets of full size bunk beds, two oak chests of drawers. Clothes hanging on the back of the door.
Combination of synthetic and feather duvet/ pillows on the bunk beds.

Please do ask if you would like synthetic bedding, we can try and provide this.
All of the bed linen is 400 thread count Egyptian cotton which we have professionally laundered after each guest has departed. We provide one bath sheet and one hand towel per person. We do not offer beach towels.

UPSTAIRS BATHROOM
Refurbished bathroom with an over the bath shower and WC and sink. Vanity storage unit and towel radiator.

Amble , is a pretty fishing village offering boat trips to Cocquet Island. It hosts an array of local pubs and fine restaurants and a famous artisan ice cream shop.
There are local shops on the bustling high street, a Tesco and a COOP, two great butchers, local deli, bakery and fresh fish can be bought on the harbour side.

Within 15 minutes drive you can visit the historic town of Alnwick boasting Alnwick castle (featured in Harry Potter) and the stunning Alnwick gardens. The Northumberland coastline is breath taking and unspoilt.

A beautiful place to explore the magnificent coastline.

Hello, I bought Navy House in 2017 with my sister Sophie. We renovated from top to bottom which was quite a feat. We can't get over to Whitby as much as we would like so we can share our seaside home with you.
