Our home is a 150 year old fort cum Palace with traditionally decorated, spacious, air-conditioned rooms set amongst gardens on the gradual slope of the Eastern Ghats.
80 kms from Bhubaneswar this makes for a quiet getaway from where to explore local culture, nature, heritage, handicrafts and temples. Lounges, a well stocked library, terraces, open courtyards and lawns where one can relax, meditate, paint and be in communion with nature. Yoga, Folk and Classical dances organised on request.
The only fort cum Palace in Odisha, built in the latter part of the 19th century, it is the residence of the erstwhile Raja of Dhenkanal lived in by over seven generations of his family give you an insight into the history, culture and heritage of the land.
The palace is built on the slopes of the Garhjat Hills of the Eastern Ghats, with an orchard and a quiet reserve forest at the back through which guests may take a walk if they wish.
