We are just back from having a fantastic time in this beautiful spacious home.... Ideal for large families with kids or just a getaway overlooking the beautiful owenmore river and the mountains... So safe with a gated garden and walking distance to shops pubs and lovely playground... Great location... We will be back!!

A wonderfully clean 'home from home' in the most beautiful surroundings with a lovely, friendly host. I could not recommend this highly enough.

Would love to stay here again. The house was large and very comfortable. The kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and the rest of the house were top class. There was a living room downstairs and upstairs too. There was a bar upstairs at the end of the living room which added to the atmosphere. The scenery in all directions was breathtaking. We rented a boat from Bangor Erris and rowed on the lake. We climbed a little mountain across the road and had an amazing view from the top.

We spent a great week-end at Liam's house. Although we did not meet Liam or his sister, the communication over the phone was always great and they replied within minute. We'll definitely come back

Eimear est une personne vraiment charmante qui s'est montrée vraiment compréhensive et arrangeante avec nous, nous la remercions encore! Sa maison est exactement comme elle la décrit, de plus la literie est très confortable ce qui ne gâche rien! Nous ne sommes malheureusement restés qu'une nuit et une petite journée mais la région est vraiment magnifique, et finalement assez méconnue, alors n'hésitez pas, c'est sublime, on en prend plein les yeux. Maisie's place se trouve tout près de magnifiques plages et de points de vue exceptionnels. Notre seul regret : ne pas avoir pu rester plus longtemps ! Pour résumé, nous recommandons à la fois la maison, sa localisation, la découverte du comté de Mayo et nous remercions encore Eimear pour son hospitalité et sa gentillesse (et une parfaite connaissance de la région me semble t-il :))

The four of us had a great week at Eimear's place. The house was warm, comfortable, well equipped and spacious and was a great place to unwind and relax. We all slept very well all week. The house was just as described in the listing. North Mayo is remote, wild and windswept but this was pretty much what we were looking for and it is well worth the trek! The house offers a very good base for trips to Westport, Achill Island and of course Belmullet and the beautiful Mullet peninsula. Visitors should also make sure they make the short journey south of Geesala to Doohoma and enjoy the stunning views from Doohoma Head. North Mayo is far less crowded than Connemara - not crowded at all in fact - but in my view just as beautiful. Communication with Eimear was excellent from start to finish and it was lovely to meet her and get some expert local knowledge on the area.

Stayed in Maisie's Place with my husband and son. Great week of cycling, walking and touring around. May be a little remote for some? For me it was a perfect base. Weather as you would expect in Ireland and some wonderful sunsets overlooking the beach. Only downside, if you have a wandering dog like ours, it would perhaps be better if there was a fence/wall around the property. No great harm! Overall very well equipped house with extremely comfy beds and a super Aqualisa shower.

What a fantastic place to stay. If peace and quiet is what youre looking for then this is the place. House is fully equipped and only 10 minutes from a town for supplies. The views are stunning and we had the local beaches all to ourselves. The kids loved the location and the house has a great garden for kids to play in. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Mary is an absolutely fantastic host! Cannot thank you enough for letting us stay here! From the moment we arrived Mary was very welcoming and made us feel at home. The fire was on when we arrived and she also had little bits for us such in the fridge to get us started! :-) The cottage was an absolute delight and had everything we needed. 100% would recommend to others and I myself would stay here again. xx

We stayed in this lovely house for a short break as we attended an event at the nearby Broadhaven Bay Hotel. It is spacious, light and airy, plus has wonderful views out across the bay. The house is very well maintained, well equipped, very clean and had all that we needed during our stay. We would happily stay again.

Really well presented and well kept house and surrounding area, good communication with Diane before hand and good handover with the housekeeper. Only disappointment was I wasn't informed of the requirement to pay our own utilities which amounted to €60 for the long weekend. An improvement would be to be transparent about the utility charge as some may refuse to pay. All in all would recommend.

THIS WAS A BEAUTIFUL COTTAGE WITH THE MOST AMAZING VIEWS, IT WAS COSY, CLEAN AND WELL PRESENTED. I LOVED THE WAY THE FIRE WAS SET UP READY TO BE LIT.

Was down in Mayo for a long weekend had a lovely time! The house has beautiful views about 10min drive from Belmullet town. The house itself was so clean and had everything you could need having the fire set ready to light was a lovely touch!x John and the house keeper where both very helpful with direction, taxi number and other info. We got lost coming into Belmullet and Breidge johns house keeper came and meet us and took us to the house! Very helpful!

Lovely, peaceful, location~but just minutes from a pub, grocery and petrol. The cottage is fully equipped with an updated kitchen, large en suite bedroom and bath (with separate shower) and plenty of turf for the fire Working with John was pleasant and seamless.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage. The view is out of this world with a beach a 5min walk away. The cottage is equipped with everything you would need, from irons to towels! The fire on arrival was a lovely touch. This really is a place for a tranquil getaway & a complete break from it all!!

If it's a quiet family holiday you're looking for (weather permitting) we would recommend Paul's place, a spacious clean family home , it had everything we needed

The location of the house with a view of Gleggan Iceland is awesome. It is deemed good in the house sus even if the weather is not inviting to excursions. The neighborhood is quiet. The house is cozy and practical. Mary, Paul's mother is very friendly and funny, she has us around and showed us everything. Since even had fresh flowers and peat for heating the small furnace. Paul's father was in a very short time there when this gas is considered. The Wi-Fi - for those who like me do not do without - is very good. The heating system is great, the house stays warm when it's stormy outside - not selstverständlich in Ireland! All in all we had a very nice stay!

Beautiful family house with a scenic view, wonderful perks and a grand table for family dinners. All the comforts of home and then some. I highly recommend this lovely house for getting back to basics and enjoying life as it should be!

Mary's friendly face greeted us on our arrival. She showed us around the house and told us how things functioned. This house was absolutely perfect for my daughter, son-in-law, our four-year-old grandson, and seven-year-old granddaughter who joined us for the first part of our 10-week trip to Ireland. The rooms are huge, the furniture is extremely comfortable, and the sunroom made up for many of the rainy days we had while we were there-which was unusual for the area. Another plus was the quietness to the rooms. My son-in-law and daughter wanted to sleep in late several days because of the stress from their jobs, and all we had to do was close the doors to the rooms downstairs if we were in them. Somehow the doors were able to block out almost all the noise. A huge plus, especially with two little ones! The view from the house was phenomenal. The beach was in walking distance and it was beautiful! A little too cold to go swimming, but we enjoyed the beauty and the children loved playing in the sand. The town was close by, so my husband and son-in-law were able to hit the pub, and we had A quick drive to the supermarket when we needed supplies. The kitchen was so wonderful that we only ate out two times, and the food in town and was very good. One day was extremely rainy, but we lucked out! They actually have an arcade/bowling alley in town. Although bowling wasn't at the top of our list when we went to Ireland, it ended up being a great time. When my granddaughter was getting ready to leave, she sobbed. She said, "GiGi, wouldn't it be great if we could all live here together in this house and live in Ireland? I don't want to go home." What better review could there be than that?!!

Shirley and Patrick were great hosts. After I got the keys and enjoyed the area, I came back to a turf fire and had a really relaxed evening. That was exactly what I needed, after traveling for a while and later at night Shirley and Patrick joined me for a while. The breakfast was the best I had so far and even included self made bread. Overall a very nice stay and it was a pleasure meeting you.

I can not describe how helpful and loving Shirley and Pat are there. We had not found immediately, because Patrick is looking to have the car going around us. After our arrival and greeting Thank gabs erstaml relax by the fireplace of the already burning for us. Each quantitative great tips and conversation. They even packed lunches with sandwiches, fruit and homemade cakes. Unfortunately we only had two nights there, but we'll be back

Shirley is a fantastic host, caring and gentle she even came in the night to welcome me when I arrived after getting lost in the beautiful countryside ,and also her husband Patrick was extremely nice. The really welcoming and comfortable house is based in one of the nicest spot in Ireland, in a National Park ,near a beautiful beach and in a fantastic setting. I also loved her joyful dog Molly which was gentle and really beautiful. So I have to say that I passed a splendid vacation ,in a beautiful house ,having a great breakfast and with two very beautiful people! Thanks for your attention Shirley and I hope to see you soon again.

Dear Shirley, thanks so much! my arrival was late at evening, just following maps me app .....i was all wet after a day of trekking on Achil Island ( 40 min drive) and you and your husband wellcomed me with a big smile.. a good tea and the fire was going ! All my clothes dryed before midnight.. i'll bring in my heart the nice walking we had toghether the following morning on the beautiful long white sand beach near the house with your dog Molly, the beautiful sleeping in more complete silence and the marvellous breakafst...i'll try to do pancakes too! Your sense of hospitality is more then a passion, i wish you all the best and strongly recommend anyone wishing a true air b and b experience to be so lucky to stay with you. We just loved out stay in Kieran’s house. The location is wonderful with views out across the bogs towards the softly rolling, but huge and empty Nephin Beg mountain range. This is a designated dark skies area and at night the darkness and silence is overwhelming. All city folk should get to experience this at least once. Just down the road is the excellent Ballycroy visitor centre with very helpful, knowledgeable staff and lovely short films describing life in Ballycroy over the last decades. Over the road from that is the community hall (known as the ‘Ballroom of Romance’!) where there seems to be a continuous programme of events giving the sparse and dispersed community a chance to get together. You’re also very near Mulranny and the stunning watery landscapes of the bays to the north and south of it as well as access to lovely Achill Island. Lovely beaches abound. For my money, Ballycroy National Park should be just as popular as better known Connemara N P down in Galway. If you’re a hiker, the Western Way and the Bangor Trail both offer gorgeous routes. Letterkeen is great for a shorter walk. Kieran’s house was spotlessly clean and very spacious and well organised. You’ll find everything you need there but it’s quite empty of ‘stuff’. – There’s all the furniture you need but no extra clutter for those who might favour a more homely feel. That said, we managed to light a turf fire (Kieran had provided the turf which was a great treat and made it feel cosy. Kieran himself was very helpful, getting in touch before we travelled to make sure we knew where we were going and sending lots of messages with maps, etc. Kathleen who lives nearby was there to check we arrived ok and was absolutely delightful. Highly recommended!

Beautiful house in a beautiful location. House spotless with everything you need. No wifi a bonus if you ask me lots of peace and quiet. A great place to relax. You do need a car to get to wonderful Mulranny and Achill island. Both must sees as well as Ballycroy National Park visitor centre. Highly recommend this house.

We enjoyed our stay in Eileen's house. It was spotless and she has thought of every detail. I would thoroughly recommend you to stay with her as the property is very central.

The house is lovely. Spotless and well appointed. The photos don't really do it justice. We loved the location which allowed us to explore tha area. The two open forces were prepared for us and even though the weather didn't really warrant it, we couldn't resist.

The house is a gorgeous and cosy place with a great kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. We found Eileen and her family to be very friendly and helpful. They took great care of us and made sure we felt at home. The area is full of stunning nature spots to fill up your day, at only a short driving distance away.

Eileen & Pat were excellent hosts, very welcoming & attentative during our stay. We arrived to turf fires prepared & guest towels & toiletries in all bedrooms/bathrooms. The bungalow was immaculately clean & more spacious than I expected, with lovely gardens & meadow out back ovetlooking Achill island. Good location close to Belmullet & beautiful beaches. Would highly recommend!

Great host and great (and big) house located 2km from Belmullet. Erris Head loop walk close by (20min-drive), a must-see ! Jerry was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

Abbiamo avuto alcune difficoltà a trovare la casa (oltre al fatto che in paese quel giorno era impossibile circolare in auto per via di matrimoni e quindi abbiamo dovuto fare dei giri lunghi e tortuosi scoprendo poi che la casa si trovava subito prima del paese). Purtroppo l'unica camera grande che c'era era per tre persone (noi eravamo due adulti e due bambini) quindi ci siamo dovuti adattare e far dormire i bimbi nell'unico letto. L'acqua calda era scarsa o nulla perciò anche per questo ci siamo dovuti adattare. Per il resto ok, avendoci passato una sola notte è andata bene.

Il était un bon hôtel près de Belmullet avec une belle vue sur la campagne.

Il padrone di casa non era presente al mio arrivo e ho potuto ottenere alcuna risposta dai numeri di telefono indicati. Ho chiesto al garage accanto e avevano un altro numero. Ho parlato con il padrone di casa che ha spiegato che erano via a un matrimonio. Mi è stato detto dalla porta sul retro era aperta e di lasciarmi in & utilizzare una delle camere da letto al piano di sotto. L'alloggio non è vissuto in una proprietà, ma arredato vuota. Non c'era acqua calda in bagno o in cucina, ma sono riuscito a ottenere il funzionamento della caldaia. L'host chiamato più tardi quella sera e mi ha detto che c'era una doccia elettrica al piano di sopra per l'acqua calda e per me di lasciare il posto sbloccata quando esco. Mi è stato detto che avrei potuto ottenere qualche cosa di cui avevo bisogno dal negozio garage. Non ho visto nessuno dopo. Anche se ho pensato che una condizione di Airbnb di hosting è stato che una qualche forma di prima colazione (cereali o toast, ecc) era parte del pacchetto, non esistevano disposizioni di alcun tipo in cucina diversa da alcune bustine di tè in un 'take away' bicchiere di carta. Ho soggiornato in un alloggio di gran lunga migliore di Airbnb dello stesso prezzo e non si sentono che io consiglio a chiunque altro. Mi rendo conto che ci sembrava di essere una certa confusione dai padroni di casa, che sembravano essere a conoscenza del fatto che avevo fatto la prenotazione (forse non hanno capito il sistema 'di prenotazione istantanea' su Airbnb), ma non sembrava particolarmente preoccupato. Se non avessi già pagato, non avrei soggiornato lì.

Nous avons été accueillis par un ami de nos hôtes qui a été très utile. La maison était si doux et confortable et très loin des sentiers battus comme annoncé. nous nous sommes sentis comme si nous étions vraiment dans le coeur de la campagne Irlande-manque de touristes était un plus massif.

Be sure to visit Doolough beach (follow Doris' instructions on how to get there!) and Elly Bay on the Mullet Peninsula. A perfect place to unwind away from the main tourist trail

Wirklich reizvolle und ruhige Ferienhaus mit erstaunlichen Landschaften und großen Himmel. Die nahe gelegenen Strände sind weitläufigen Sand und schön. Doris war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam während unseres Aufenthaltes.

Doris greeted us with great attention all as charming as each other: fresh flowers bouquets, Apple pie, and many advance food for our meals, and especially with great kindness. It also recommended us some nice outings that will remain in our memory. Blue cottage covered with herbs is tastefully and poetry. We greatly enjoyed our stay and had the great pleasure of getting to know our hostess and her fascinating work.

We verbleven 4 nachten in Doris Cottage en het was prachtig. Een nauwkeurige omschrijving leidde ons direct naar de Doohoma schiereiland. Doris begroette ons zeer vriendelijk en gaf ons interessante lokale informatie. De koelkast was gevuld en veel voedsel dat voor consumptie in de keuken. De stranden in de directe omgeving zijn een droom en ook om te wandelen, er zijn prachtige wandelroutes langs de kust. We voelden ons het huisje meteen comfortabel en 'aangekomen'. We zouden ons verblijf - maar zeker in het huisje te komen na Doohoma terug! Dear Doris, bedankt voor de leuke tijd en leuke praten met je mee. Tot hopelijk binnenkort - Slan gaan fóill

Hoewel we Doris niet voldeden als ze weg voor het weekend was, ze hebben ons van harte welkom en was een zeer attente gastheer. Doris gaf ons uitstekende aanwijzingen en gecontroleerd om te zien alles in orde was. Haar huisje is uiterst charmant en zeer comfortabel. We waren zeer gelukkig om goede weer en de zithoek buiten hebben was ideaal, aan het ontbijt met alleen vogelgeluiden te breken de stilte was zo ontspannend. Er is een prachtig strand ongeveer 3 kilometer van het huis, de weg zijn zeer rustig en ideaal om te fietsen en er is een zeer vriendelijke pub op loopafstand van het huisje. Ik zou dit huisje voor iedereen die wil een rustige ontspannen vakantie in een prachtige en ongerepte deel van Ierland.

Mijn man en ik verbleven hier drie nachten in februari, en viel helemaal verliefd op het huis en het dorp. Doris is een zeer vriendelijke gastheer, die ons verwelkomden (in haar huis aan de overkant van het huis) met een kopje thee, een beetje welkomstgeschenk, en veel nuttige informatie. Het huisje was gevuld met genoeg voedsel om ons te duren de eerste paar maaltijden, en genoeg hout en turf om een brand te gaan in de houtkachel tijdens ons verblijf te houden. Er waren zelfs verse bloemen op tafel. Dit is echt een prachtige plek om wat tijd door te brengen. Het uitzicht vanaf de veranda zijn inspirerend. Doohoma is een klein en zeer rustige plek, maar er is een eenvoudige winkel, een zeer leuke pub (tra bui), en een prachtige kustlijn op loopafstand. We zijn al aan het plannen ons volgende verblijf!

Het huis was in lijn met onze verwachtingen. De faciliteiten zijn goed met betrekking tot de houtkachel en turf. De plaats is smaakvol ingericht. Het is leuk om daar te blijven. Het uitzicht op Achill Island is magisch als de zon schijnt zijn stralen af. Maar het belangrijkste voor ons was de ontmoeting met Doris. We waren gecharmeerd door zijn vriendelijkheid en we zullen de herinnering aan onze lange discussies te houden. We zijn ook van plan met haar in contact te blijven.

We all fell in love with Julie's house. The decor, the facilities, the location were all first class. Julie had thought of EVERYTHING! We would highly recommend this house and hope to visit again.

This house was perfect! The photos do not do the property justice and we were extremely impressed with the layout and decor which instantly made it feel like a home. Julie was an excellent host, who responded to all of our queries in a prompt & timely manner. Julie also provided bread, eggs, milk, teabags, butter, biscuits and a number of other amenities for our arrival which was perfect for getting us started. The house was really well equipped and had everything we could possibly need. The rooms were extremely spacious and we particularly loved kitchen area and the sunroom next to the kitchen both of which had beautiful views of the countryside. We have family nearby so know the area very well and this property is particularly well located. You can drive to Belmullet town in 15mins and have a few local pubs, shops & petrol station in the local area. I would highly recommend this house and Julie as a host.

We loved this house and felt the pictures do not do justice to the layout and comfort level of the home. The host, Julie, was extremely responsive and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Julie had tea, bread, eggs, butter and other basics on hand for us when we arrived. Very comfortable & beautiful home, tastefully decorated. Terrific floor plan with no steps up or down to bedrooms. The kitchen was very well equipped & beautiful with lots of seating/ visiting space. Sunroom adjacent to kitchen with comfortable couches and lovely views to the Irish countryside. Quiet neighborhood - no traffic sounds - extremely peaceful. Convenient to Belmullet for dining and golf (15 min. drive to the town). Small pubs, gas station and grocery store nearby. We have family in the area and love golf at Carne. If interested in golf, you receive a reduced rate for staying in the Belmullet area. Highly recommend this home and would return in a heartbeat!!! ️
