“Georgetown is a charming area with Federal-style architecture, cobblestone streets, and fashion and design shops. The dining scene is defined by upmarket restaurants and waterfront seafood spots, while nightlife spans boisterous college bars, traditional taverns, and intimate live music lounges. Georgetown Waterfront Park has a riverside promenade and gardens, and there's a bike path along the C&O Canal.”

“The C & O Canal starts in West Virginia and ends in Georgetown. If you go to Georgetown and you like hiking or biking, rent bikes and ride the trail that goes along the canal. The canal parallels the Potomac. It is a great way to spend an afternoon.”

“Only one block south of the bustling sidewalks of Georgetown, the C&O Canal is great place to soak in the historic former industrial waterways of DC. The portion of the trail south of M Street, from Rock Creek Park to the Palisades, is about 1.5 miles long, but is part of a larger trail on the Potomac river stretching 185 miles in length.”
