“Alexandra Park is a public park in Hastings. It occupies 109 acres, with its linear area stretching from the town centre out to residential areas. You can choose short or long walks through the vastly different areas, including reservoirs & lakes with wonderful wildlife, rose gardens, beautiful wooded areas, Cafe with play parks, tennis courts & the famous miniature railway. this wonderful park reminds me of Central Park in New York, but on a Hastings scale. I have happy childhood memories of spending whole summers in this park, where my Grandparents lived at the top most end.”

“Take the funicular railway up to East Hill where the views stretch all the way along the coast to Beachy Head. From East Hill, keep walking along the stunning coast path – it’s hard work, with some big hills, but the scenery is more than worth it. You can either stop off at Fairlight Cove (a nudist beach!) – ignoring the ‘No public access’ signs. Or keep walking all the way to Winchelsea. ”

“A fabulous open space to visit with far reaching views over Hastings and the coastline. The Country Park is accessible by car, or the East Hill Lift ( Funicular) in the Old Town. Plenty of benches dotted around to take in the wonderful view.”

“A wooded enclosure complete with its own waterfalls. This nature reserve is home to a host of rare flowers and animals, including some only found in the UK. Here you can walk alongside babbling waters and discover two waterfalls hidden away from the beaten track. If after all that calmness you fancy a bit of action why not try some archery or axe throwing at nearby 1066 Target Sports. ”
