'Piman Pu' is a private Thai style timber pool villa constructed using traditional methods over three levels. It has some beautiful architectural features, such as doors from a buddhist temple, and terracotta roof from traditional family pottery kiln.
The villa has a beautiful 11x4 fibreglass pool - set in a private lush private tropical garden.
It is like a house of the early 20th century, but with all modern conveniences - power, hot water, plasma TV/DVD player, fridges coffee maker. Wi-fi internet is available and there is phone reception. The villa has direct beachfront access to near private Ao Luboh at Koh Pu. The house also has stunning views to the mountain.
The inside bathroom has large separate shower room with hot water, and full western separate toilet room. There is a garden shower, and a shower on the beach. There is also a second outside bathroom.
Swimming at high tide is like being in a large heated lagoon. The villa is set in a lush private tropical garden of frangipani trees and palms, and also has a fruit orchard at the rear of the long propery.
The rate for the villa includes service, and Thai meals prepared for you, with food purchased by yourself for you to enjoy. We suggest stocking up with groceries before making the crossing - alcohol is limited on the island, and there are no ATMs. A coffee machine and tea making facilities are provided at the villa, as well as a reverse osmosis water filter.
In high season, meals can be purchased from restaurants operating on the beach or around the island.
We can arrange island hopping and motorbike rental.
How to get there?
We suggest you fly to Krabi, and on arrival request a taxi take you from the airport to Laem Kruat pier. Boats leave Laem Kruat for Koh Pu at 9.30, 11.30, 13.00, 14.30, 16.00 and 17.30. At Koh Pu village ask a local taxi to bring you to Piman Pu Villa.
In high season, there's also a fast ferry from Krabi or Koh Lanta which can drop you at Ao Luboh - but ideally, you should arrange for a longtail to collect you in advance.
The staff live in a house next door.
The beauty of Koh Pu/Jum is that it is like the Thailand of 30 years ago. Thailand has developed so fast and with little planning, and places like Hua Hin, Koh Samui, and Pattaya are the result. In Koh Pu/Jum there are few cars (no regular car ferry), lots of space, beautiful gardens, locals who smile and chat, empty beaches, and locally produced food. Yet this island is closer to Krabi Airport than Koh Lanta, and within striking distance of Koh Phi Phi by longtail.
