We had a great 2 night stay at Lauren's. We had an write floor to ourselves which included 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. There was also a fridge in our bedroom which Lauren kindly provided some bits to keep us going. It was opposite a play park which was great for our kids and there is a great little cafe and a few take away portions close by. Lovely home, highly recommend.

We highly recommend Lauren's lovely home! Our rooms and bathroom were immaculate and she provided a ton of options for snacks/breakfast. Lauren was also extremely gracious and welcoming. Her home is across the street from a huge park and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Our only complaint is we only stayed one night!

We had a great stay. Perfect to put our heads down for a good nights kip. We had a fab little selection of breakfast goodies too in our own little fridge. If I’m working in the area again, I will definitely be back!

Lauren was friendly and her flat was a wonderful place to stay! We gave her less than an hour's notice and she still let us stay, set us up two rooms and left us a great selection of breakfast foods in our mini-fridge! We would definitely recommend anyone to stay with her.

Esta es una casa preciosa, muy bien equipado y en una zona tranquila, aislada, con unas vistas preciosas. La casa está impecable, terminado y amueblado a un nivel muy alto y tiene todo lo que era de esperar ... y mucho más! La oscilación del árbol y trampolín jardín eran preciosas sorpresas y mantuvieron a los niños entretenidos. Tuvimos un gran fin de semana aquí y sin duda la intención de visitar otra vez.

Paul and his wife were very nice and quite welcoming. They had been in the place for just a month when they hosted us...I think we were the first guests. The house is a beautiful old mansion outside of Laurencekirk and nearby to Stonehaven and Aberdeen. The grounds are beautiful and access to the house from the highway were great. I definitely recommend this as a place to stay if you find yourself in the area.

Where do I start? Griselda, first of all, is a top-notch hostess, with a lovely home, a beautiful family, and a unique ability to pamper the road-weary traveler. Her castle/family home is remote, with a small town being the closest burgh. This in no way detracts; rather, it enhances the peacefulness of the estate. I arrived late to her door, but was welcomed with an offer of a dram of whisky or a cup of tea, then a restful fire in the drawing room, where puzzles and maps of their area had been laid out. She and her husband saw to it that we were happily installed, showed us the layout, gave us advice about our next days' itinerary, and then withdrew, letting us settle down, settle in, and relax. Our room was gorgeous, with a turret bathroom ensuite, and the coronation chairs sat in by the family during HRH's coronation in '53. The beds were crisp, oh-so-comfy, and I slept like a baby. The next morning, I woke up, got dressed, and took a walk out to the paddock where the horses were. I met her dogs, three lovely dogs, and all the chickens and ducks and horses out back. The grounds are extensive: I only puttered around one part, but there are vast amounts of land that could have been walked, if that's your thing! Back in the kitchen, I sat with a pot of tea and happily chatted with Griselda and her daughter about maths, school, and horses, until my friend wandered in, at which point we moved tot he dining room and were served breakfast. The whole feeling was one of restful, quiet, peaceful country life. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the family, and would cheerfully visit again.

Griselda aveva tè e dolci pronto per noi gallina siamo arrivati e il fuoco nel camino. Ci siamo sentiti benvenuti. Lei era perfetto padrone di casa. Griselda was extremely nice and made us feel almost at home. The place is magnificent and with just a couple of rooms, there is no danger of having unwanted guests with you. The only thing to be aware of is that the toilet (private) is located on the upper floor, next to the twin room, which means that those staying in the double room have to climb some stairs to get to the toilet.

The cabin is very cosy and had exactly what I needed for some quiet time in the woods whilst being completely off-grid and away from distractions for my weekend solitary meditation retreat. Lesley and Ray made themselves available to help out with anything I needed but they respect that most people go there for peace and quiet so you can be completely alone if you want to be. I also enjoyed being surrounded by the wildlife - red squirrels, deer, all kinds of woodland birds.

A wonderful time was had in the woodland cabin. Comfortable and clean with all you'd need as well as red squirrels and surprises aplenty. Would recommend

Absolutely loved our stay at Rowanlea Lodge - everything is new and very clean, designed and furnished to a very high standard and incredibly homely! Thank you Lorna. An excellent 2 days spent in Marykirk exploring the local area. The log cabin is amazing with attention to detail, quality of the finish and everything you could wish for in a self catering property. My 2 kids lovely the upstairs and their own space and we were happy downstairs with all the creature comforts. Need to come back when it's cooler to try the wood burner. Angus has a lot going for it and there are spectacular views from the cabin. We took a walk to Dunnator Castle, a drive up to Banchory and Crathis Castle (National Trust) and then a very scenic drive back over Cairn O Mount. Good driving connections to the A90 so up to Aberdeen or down to Dundee. Thanks again, we ll be back

My wife and I have just returned from a lovely, peaceful weekend at Rowanlea Lodge. The cabin itself is stunning, you can tell the craftsmanship involved in its construction and the care and eye for detail from Lorna in decorating and making it a home away from home. Everything is taken care of. Would recommend to anyone looking for some peace and quiet and great walks.

A very comfortable annex to the house with a good bathroom, comfortable bed and sitting area. It was all that we could have hoped for. We were made to feel very welcome despite the fact that we were wet through after arriving on bikes in a rain storm. Kirsty allowed us to store our bikes in the passage way of the annex and we soon dried everything out. There was a pub a few minutes walk away with typical pub food within 10 minutes walk. The beach is a 5 minutes walk and is deserted and stunningly beautiful. Next morning Kirsty had left out a simple breakfast which was just what we wanted to set us up for the next leg of our journey. Thanks very much Kirsty and partner.

Beautiful scenery of the cliffs and sea a short walk away, they've even had a whale visiting recently, and Kirsty let us borrow her binoculars to whale watch. We got a great night's sleep and had a nice spot to shower before continuing on our journey! The room and bathroom is a small wing off the main house, and they are very respectful of the guests space, but welcome questions if you have them. Great stay!

Fantastic hosts, and beautiful home. We arrived much later than anticipated, but Kirsty was welcoming and helpful. My traveling companion is a wheelchair user, and again Kirsty was helpful. We were offered the choice of two rooms, plenty room to manoeuvre wheelchair and turn. Same applies to bathroom, but assistance required. Felt relaxed in the morning, pleasant room to wake up in. And breakfast was lovely Highly recommended this place, warm, smiling family.

Well what can I say?! St Cyrus has the wow factor for me. John & Kirsty were there to welcome us, a lovely friendly couple who keep an immaculate annex that is 5 mins from the cliff top. What more can you want?! As we were on a romantic weekend we were left at peace to enjoy each others company. But we given great advice on where to go and also informed that there was a humpback whale that had come to feed in the area, which was totally exciting and we even got a few photo's! That's not all! We were treated to amazing vistas, beach walks, a waterfall into the sea and lots and lots of wildlife. Bring your camera because you will need it! Even at night because the stars are on show with little light pollution. I did not have to use filters on my pics as the area is super photogenic. My photo's got lots of likes on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and friends who now want to come to the area themselves. I would highly recommend Kirsty's & Johns home.

Liz and Thomas are lovely. She took care of us, checking if we needed something or we were okay. They had breakfast with us and offered their stuff in every single moment. Although we were their second guests, she was great. Let's visit them!

I had a great short stay (one night) with Liz and her family. After a long journey on the day I arrived all I needed was a warm welcome and a comfortable bed, which the place suited perfectly. Liz was more than welcoming in opening her home to me when I arrived. I was introduced to the family and the pets (two cats and a dog) before being given a tour of the house and shown to my room. I took full advantage of the fantastic bath in the morning in what was pretty-much my own bathroom, and gladly accepted the offer of good coffee in the morning. Although I was a little apprehensive about staying there at first as it's my first using Airbnb without renting an entire place, the stay with Liz convinced me that I should take advantage of staying in peoples' homes and getting to know them more often. Thank you!

This was the best air b&b we have ever stayed at! Absolutely beautiful with all the amenities you could wish for! Amanda even left us a welcome hamper for NYE with prosseco and locally sourced jam and chutney! The bedrooms were gorgeous and there two large rooms with sofas and televisions not to mention USB ports! We were spoilt for choice! There was an endless supply of towels and even a dressing gown and slippers provided ! This was more of a high standard hotel than a b&b , we couldn't recommend enough and will be doing to everyone we know! Amanda was accommodating and lovely in every communication! Literally cannot say enough! Thank you Amanda !

Amanda, is the quintessential hostess. She is so on top of anything needs. Her place has all the creature comforts and is great for a getaway, a working vacation or just to get some peace and quiet for a moment. The internet is fast and reliable, tons of TV stations and the washer and dryer and the dishwasher all work wonderfully. The beds are comfortable and house feels like a home away from home. We highly rate our experience and would absolutely recommend Laurencekirk to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming accommodation experience.

Unsere einzige negative während unseres Aufenthaltes war, dass wir nur für eine Nacht dort waren. Gemma haben uns wie zu Hause fühlen, half mit Gepäck und bot einen schönen Platz für uns und unsere 12 Monate alt. Sie ging sogar so weit, einen Schlafsack für unsere Kleinen zu schaffen. Das Haus ist wunderschön und die Gärten sind einfach wunderschön. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder.

Our host was fab, the house was fab and our stay was memorable! We were attending a wedding nearby so didn't spend too much time in the house but we were made to feel more than welcome and the house and surrounding landscape was absolutely beautiful. Our host suggested we go to St Cyrus beach on our way back home which was well worth the short detour. All in all we had a great weekend in a modern country farmhouse!

What a beautiful farmhouse, only stayed 1 night just passing through but both Gemma and her husband were very welcoming and gave great tips on the area! Cute little bunnies in the garden around the house made it very charming! Nice big room with all the amenities and comfy beds, thanks again :)
