We were upgraded to a king suite with jacuzzi= happy wife. It,s a motel, so don,t expect excitement, but it,s large, clean and convenient to downtown Pictou and the ferry.

Delightful folks... made us welcome and the room was as listed. Pretty quiet, clean. We were coming back late from a wedding and didn't want to disturb anyone. Great deal for the price. Pictou was surprisingly quiet for such a beautiful little town. We come from Lunenburg and this summer has been unbelievably busy here.... Pictou has similar traits and would love to see it get some more visitors

This space is modern, unique and a great value! There is plenty of space with lots of window's which make it a bright and inviting apartment. There are even a few fun surprises! I enjoyed cups of coffee out on the porch watching the sun rise, loved strolling through town, and looked forward to cuddling up in the comfy bed. We had three guests stay and one of us used the hide-a-bed which worked out quite nicely. The location is close to restaurants, the pier, and a short drive to the ferry, wonderful beaches and hikes. I would highly recommend this location to anyone traveling the north east shore of Nova Scotia.

Even thought we did not meet Debbie in person, we had no difficulty accessing the unit. The unit is beautiful and brand new. There is lots of room and well furnished. Having the deck to enjoy the outdoors was also nice. Thanks for the great accommodations

Even though we mever meet Debbie she was a great host and communication couldn't have been better. The pictures do not do this apartment/loft justice, it is beautiful. I would highly recommend anyone traveling through Pictou to stay here.

My stay at Shiretown Suites was fantastic. It's a beautiful place and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting historical Pictou. Debbie was a fantastic host and was quick to answer any questions and when I decided to book an additional night. I also requested a later check out on Sunday and she had problem with the extension. This newly renovated property was lovely, and so clean, we thought we were the 1st people to stay! The location was ideal for walking...and there was pizza, restaurants and the waterfront within minutes.

The Shiretown suites is brand new and very clean with all the modern equipment you would find in a 5* hotel ! Debbie was great in providing all the necessary information for our stay and she met with us at our arrival. The appartment is great with a lot of character and greatly located from the marina, restaurants, museums, beaches etc. Pictou is a superb little town with all the charms of Nova-Scotia and that was part of the history of the first Scottish settlers. Our kids really enjoyed their stay in Pictou and look forward to come back someday !

Het appartement was geweldig! Ik werkte bij de Aberdeen ziekenhuis voor 3 weken en het was een gemakkelijke 20 minuten rijden. De keuken was goed uitgerust en alle apparaten waren nieuw. Het appartement was schoon. Het bed was groot en comfortabel met een schuim top matras. Parkeren was buiten en als ik er in de wintermaanden we hadden een grote sneeuwstorm die sneeuwruimen vereist. Het gebouw land heren waren zeer goed bij me te laten weten wanneer en hoe ik mijn auto te verplaatsen om het te krijgen geploegd naar buiten en zelfs hielp schop! De verwarming was een beetje betuttelend in eerste instantie, maar de eigenaars gaven me met twee uitstekende kachels en ik was lekker warm in een mum van tijd. Wasserette in het gebouw. $ 2 voor een wassen, $ 2 voor een droge (hoeft alleen maar gekken). Geweldige plek voor een verlengd verblijf!

This lovely suite in Pictou was a perfect home base for us to explore the area's beaches and history. We really appreciated the extremely comfortable bed and the spacious lay-out, as well as the close proximity to pubs and restaurants. Local grocery store had everything we needed over the easter weekend. Listing stated that there was a TV/cable, which was not actually the case (bummer as it was hockey playoffs). 10 foot ceilings and deep walls made this a very quiet place, although the common area hallway reeked of cigarette smoke from other tenants. Would stay again, in spite of this.

Ik was op reis naar Pictou voor een conferentie en te lang gewacht om accommodaties en alles uit tegen de tijd dat ik op zoek gegaan naar verkochte boeken. Ik was erg gelukkig om dit appartement van de week te vinden voor de conferentie en ik kon niet meer gevraagd hebben perfecte plek. Het appartement was ruim, schoon, comfortabel en was slechts een paar minuten lopen van het centrum en de waterkant. Ik zou deze plaats aan iedereen aanbevelen uitgaven meer meer dan een paar dagen in het gebied en en is op zoek naar iets wat een stap omhoog van een hotelkamer.

Lorie is a great host and her breakfasts are truly great! The only thing we didn't like was having our washroom across the hall, especially at night time when you have to unlock your room door and the bathroom door. I wouldn't recommend the Cape Forchu room for that reason but she does have other rooms with washrooms.

Too bad we have not received an email specifying the details to find and park the car! It would have avoided setbacks! excellent location, quiet and at the edge of the sea. To review: the layout of the upstairs bedrooms, cleanliness and incomplete kitchen equipment for 5 persons. Tip: Do not park in front of the entrance to unload your car! The carport is located 10 meters on the right. Be careful after dark! Kathryn was concerned about our problems and helped resolve.

Karen et John étaient très gentils et leur adorable appartement était tout ce dont nous avions besoin et plus encore. Grande recommandation pour les choses à faire dans la nuit à proximité. Nice à sortir des sentiers battus un peu, mais seulement une rapide de 10 minutes en voiture du ferry PEI et belle vue sur la mer depuis le balcon de l'appartement. lit king size super confortable. Ils nous ont même apporté des œufs frais et de la confiture pour le petit déjeuner le matin. Je le recommande vraiment.

This spot was a great find. And Karen was very accommodating for our late check-in time. After a long day on the road, it was very nice to arrive here, just far enough out of town that we could sit on the deck and enjoy the stars. They've done a great job fixing up the space. And with the big comfy bed (and those marshmallowy pillows), and the country quiet, I had some of the best sleep I've had in quite a while. Also, very close to a couple beaches and the warm Northumblerland Strait waters.

Highly recommended to all travellers. Very relaxing environment and spacious accommodation.

This is a very beautiful house by the lake. The house is newly built and all facilities are new and clean. My stay was extended twice. The host was really nice and helped me changing the reservation. Small Note: The water there is a little bit salty so I would recommend use distilled water for drinking and cooking. The host prepared one bottle of distilled water and you can re-fill it at Sobey supermarket. We really enjoy our stay there.

Lo utilizamos como base para explorar Pictou, atracciones locales y playas. Pasamos un día con el chef Kilted e incluso pasamos un día en PEI, volver a "casa" después de un día largo de distancia. This was our first experience with Airbnb, and what a wonderful introduction it was! We were four people and a dog, and The Homestead was perfectly suited to our needs. Furthermore, Geraldine was the most thoughtful of hostesses. We forgot to buy milk en route, and were already dreading going out to hunt for it in the morning before breakfast, but when we opened the fridge, lo and behold! Not only a carton of milk, but cream, butter, marge, yogurt, and even some fresh veggies awaited us there. We soon discovered that our hosts had anticipated and provided for our every need. Their attention to detail and personal touches made our stay delightful, as did the charming and well-equipped two-bedroom apartment above an old farm house, the peaceful rural location, and the warmth and hospitality not only of our hosts, but of all the local people we encountered. This experience was so much more enjoyable than staying in a hotel that we are now committed Airbnb clients, and we are still wondering why we don't go and live in Nova Scotia. People there seem to have a great understanding of how to get maximum pleasure out of life.

We just spent 3 days and would recommend it. It had room to spread out. We appreciated that every need was taken into consideration from extra towels, extra blankets, and basics like tea, sugar, and laundry soap. If you love a relaxing bath this is a perfect place. The deep tub was wonderful. The location was great. We spent time in pictou, at sugar moon and visited a lavender farm. After 3 days we headed to the ferry which was only 20 minutes away. So much better than any hotel.

My son, daughter-in-law and I have spent a great time in Geraldine and Wendell home in Durham, well located in Pictou county. They welcomed us and made us feel like home. It was very quiet and charming. Our hosts answered very quickly to our inquiries. We definitely warmly recommend this location. Tank you very much Geraldine and Wendell!

Gerry and Wendell were more than welcoming - they went out of their way to help us have a wonderful stay in Durham. The home is beautifully decorated, with enough room for four and a kitchen that works well for cooking small, easy meals. Gerry even had a friend give us directions (and let us borrow his GPS) for a day down in Halifax, Peggy's Cove and Mahone Bay. We could not have asked for more. One minor thing to be aware of: the shower is not for tall people, with the tub being at the edge of a sloped ceiling. At almost 6 foot tall, I didn't have a problem, but someone extremely tall might. A car is definitely needed to get around, but there is so much to do nearby. We especially enjoyed kayaking. Gerry was great for providing information, including a nearby grocery store. I highly recommend her home.

As I said in their guestbook, the weather was cold but the welcome was warm! Thank you Geraldine and Wendell. The apartment was very much as described, very clean and inviting. This was our first experience with Air B & B and we were pleasantly surprised. Especially with the breakfast items that were provided.

Nice open main living area that suits a family environment. i.e main living area for one group, an adjacent area for kids to play / do puzzles. Beautiful view of the inlet and a large patio with BBQ (which we used a surprising amount for the time of year.) I found the water view kept catching my attention with a variety of different bird species frequenting the tidal inlet. The basement was used mainly by the kids for sleeping or watching a movie. There was plenty of space for them (& the dog) to play outside. The place was clean and had all the amenities. Neil was very responsive & pleasant. We hope to make it back.

Ginny was an excellent host and the cottage was wonderful. We made use of the private beach, kayaks, and fireplace. It was a great weekend.

The listing was exactly as pictured, located on Caribou Island which had a lovely vacation-island feeling.

Ginny is lovely. She explained us what to do in the area and how use the barbecue, we could enjoy barbecued fish that she recommended. We could also enjoy a bike ride around the area. Our english is not good but she did the effort to understand us. Her house is very nice, very close to beach (she lets you use kayaks).
