We loved our stay at the Gage House! Bob and Karen made sure we had everything we needed and were eager to help make the best of our visit. The property is gorgeous with a fascinating history and their pup Nero is just the sweetest! It's a peaceful and private retreat yet a short and easy drive into town to the Stone Church where my event was being held. Highly recommend.

Bob and Karen were warm and gracious hosts. The suite is private yet connected, and perfectly sized for a couple. Beautiful outdoor spaces surround the house, with lawns, mountains, and a river; yet you are less than five minutes from Bellows Falls. Highly recommended place to stay.

We had an amazing stay. Bob and Karen are wonderful. They were so helpful and accommodating. Love the amazing town and location is perfect for all outdoor activity. Only suggestion is we thought their was a kitchen there was a fridge and microwave but no sink or stove and we love to cook but it made us enjoy the local fare. Would go back again.

A task oriented weekend became so much more when it was necessary to find lodging that would accept a dog. The setting is at least as described and more depending on your interests and what catches your eye (ex.- one of us loves fungi (there were some whoopers) and history; the other of us loves textiles and was beyond delighted!) Bogart, our dog, was super happy to have 30 acres to romp and enjoyed some play time with his canine host- Nero. The trails on the property are wonderful. The room - with a small eating nook (refrigerator, microwave and a table for two) and a large private bath - was very clean, comfortable and packed with interesting books and art. As to the hosts- well, you won't feel more welcomed anywhere. Very comfortable folks who make sure you're comfortable. Conversation was wide ranging and interesting. Bob's buckwheat pancakes for breakfast on our last day were delicious. They were generous with their home, time and knowledge. If you're lucky enough to run into some of their friends, you may find yourself quickly falling into an interesting, enjoyable conversation with them as well. Bob, your recommendation to stop at Windham's resulted in a piece of PA slate with fossilized ferns being returned to its home state. Karen, lunch at Harlow's was an excellent idea and gave Bogie another opportunity to make new friends. If this review sounds a bit "gushy" (or some such word), it's not. You must stay here. It's that terrific.

Bob and Karen were wonderful hosts, we enjoyed a too short stay enjoying the last of the foliage. Bob and Karen's home is convenient to local hiking trails, and stores and restaurants. Bob and Karen's suite is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, I wish we had more time to enjoy their beautiful grounds.

Bob and Karen have created a lovely, nicely renovated suite in their most interesting 19th century home. The property is a beautiful place to relax, with gardens, a fabulous waterfall and a swimming hole to enjoy. They were warm, welcoming and flexible. It is nice to have your own separate space and yet be able to interact with the family. The bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom is well outfitted. I'd go back anytime!

We had a fantastic stay at Susie and Jack's apartment. It is a wonderful, warm, and inviting place and Susie was kind enough to give us some tasty food straight from her garden for a late dinner. Susie and Jack were great hosts in that they seemed to know exactly how much contact to have with their guests and were warm and easy to talk to. We would love to stay here again!

Everything was perfect about this room and the hosts. The room is quiet, great view and has everything you need. It's in a nice neighborhood. The room has everything you would need. They put juice, milk, eggs, english muffins and lots of yummy stuff for breakfast. Susie and Jack met us upon arrival and showed us everything and then we never saw them again. If you go during garden time, they encourage you to take anything you want and there is lots to take! Its just a short walk to town where there is a couple of good restaurants. The Saxons River Inn and Pleasant Valley brewery are both good. A/C and heat in the room.

We were greeted by Jack and Susie at their lovely home. We chatted and got the lowdown on where to park and how the space worked and it was perfect.

This studio apartment was perfect for out visit. Just as described! The solar generated a/c was a welcome amenity on a HOT summer day. Having a second bed wonderful for us as a mother daughter duo. The well appointed kitchenette had everything needed for a tasty egg breakfast -- coffee, juice, milk, butter, eggs -- etc. with a bunch of other staples available. The bed was comfy as was the whole studio. Finally the hosts were lovely and we enjoyed meeting them. For those not familiar with Saxtons River, it is a perfect little VT town. July 4th is a great small town event, autumn has unmatched beauty. We go to visit friends but I have been in Saxtons in every season and recommend it for a getaway in any season.

The first sign of magnificent host came with the acceptance of our reservation, which Meg replied that he would give gladly have us as guests in their home. From there, he continued to send detailed instructions on how to get home and end of our stay to get to our next destination. Something we were extremely grateful. The small apartment that touched us very original, at different levels, with a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable king bed, living room with stereo and CDs that could hear and a small library within reach. The apartment has a separate entrance so privacy queen, but if we needed anything we descended to knock on your door and pleased kindly help us with anything. The location of Saxtons River is ideal for visiting throughout Southeast Vermont State as this' near a major highway and secondary roads leading to all directions. We recommend this abode without any reservation.

Meg and Barbi's place is exactly as advertised. Clean, well-stocked, nice location. They were great hosts - available for questions, left homemade pumpkin bread and waters in frig, refilled sugar supply. Would definitely recommend staying here

I didn't have a chance to meet Meg, since I got very late to her place and spent most of the time going around, but the communication with her was great, she would txt back within minutes and left very thorow directions about the house and what to do around. Great place, very cute, well arranged, clean - impeccable! Would definitely stay again.

Meg and Barbi were lovely and helpful, but never intrusive. The apartment was clean, bright and well furnished, with three separate living spaces that made it ideal for my husband and I and our baby, who could sleep in a separate room. Their garden is fabulous, and we had such a nice time sitting outside in the grass and enjoying the nice weather. We are looking forward to staying again next year!

Meg and Barbi were so sweet and very welcoming. They were nice enough to come out and say hi the second day we got back and we had a nice chat with them after they asked us how our day was. Me and my gf had been up for the weekend skiing Okemo which is about 35 min away and Stratton which is about an hour away. We had such a lovely stay with Melissa at The Good House Cottage. The area is beautiful and quiet-perfect for a nice weekend away. The cottage itself is huge with a very large kitchen area and living room-and it's all super clean. Not one dust bunny on the hardwood floor! We were pleasantly surprised by the old timey record player and eclectic record collection in addition to the FRESH eggs in the fridge for our breakfast. If we are ever in the area again, we would stay here in a heartbeat. Thanks again!

Melissa's place is quaint, clean, and quiet. My girlfriend and I stayed for three days and had a great time. I highly recommend that if you want a relaxing time with your significant other or just yourself - this is the place to do it. Melissa is also very responsive and easy to communicate with. Whenever I reached out her via email or phone, she always responded back to me in a timely fashion.

The Good House was a wonderful place to call home for a night. The house is very comfortable and has great energy, we appreciated Melissa's tasteful decorating and enjoyed all the furniture and art in the house.The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, the farm fresh eggs and coffee were a treat.

A comfortable and quaint home in scenic VT. Slept three adults and a dog very comfortably. I would definitely rent this place again!

It's tough to write a review for the Top of the Milky Way that even comes close to capturing how incredible this spot is. This is a very special place, from the long dirt road that leads you to up the mountain, to the detail and precision that goes into the design of the apartment; I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a long weekend. The views from the lofted bedroom are breathtaking, especially when leaving the blinds open and the sun wakes you up as it comes over the New Hampshire mountains in the distance. The apartment is flawless, spacious, and extremely comfortable. Barbara takes every measure possible to ensure your stay is perfect. The kitchen came stocked with plenty of food and drinks, including local Vermont cheeses, and the wood box for the stove is filled to the brim. It was a very private experience as the apartment does not share a common wall with the main house and is only connected via a sun porch, but Barbara is very accessible should you need her. She was a very gracious host, and I loved being able to chat briefly with her. The whole experience was an absolute treasure, and I am already planning my return.

This was one of the best Airbnbs I've stayed at. So gutted we only stayed one night!! Barbara was friendly and helpful from first communication through the Airbnb site, through to welcoming us on arrival and giving us the grand tour, and seeing us off (along with her husband Mark), giving us great tips on which route to take for our onwards journey! We really enjoyed chatting to them about their home and way of life. The house is in a beautiful location, down unpaved roads but very easy to find. The views all round are inspiring and you feel in a world of your own! Barbara suggested a very nice walk down to the bottom of their field, via the gazebo, which I very much enjoyed at sunset, and again in the morning with my cup of coffee! The bed is very comfortable and we just loved everything about the place! Very clean and so many interesting pictures and decorations to look at! And the book collection - extremely impressive. It's like a whole library! Books on every conceivable subject it seemed, and great fiction too. We arrived in the evening after a long drive and were so suprised and happy to find that the kitchen area was so very generously stocked! And the extra special treat was that Barbara had remembered the occasion for our trip and presented us with a lovely box of locally made chocolate mice! So sweet, thank you so much Barbara and Mark! We hope to visit again some time!

They had a fire warming the place when we arrived, with cookies! They gave us recommendations for restaurants and were very accommodating. The views from the bedroom were beautiful. This was my first time with Airbnb, and I can't imagine hosts any better than Barbara and Mark! From the very beginning of the booking process, Barbara was a gracious host and we felt more like family friends than random strangers. The apartment was great with spectacular views, and the authentic Vermont goat's milk soap and fresh baked banana bread were welcome suprises. I have to make a return trip to Vermont later in July, and I plan to book with Barbara and Mark, again!

This was one of the most incredible Airbnb experiences we've had. We were looking for a place to have a relaxing and quiet weekend retreat as a couple and this place was just perfect. Not only is the setting magical, the hosts have put so much thought and care (to the degree that I've hardly ever experienced) into their home and the place that it's simply a delight to stay there. It rained most of our stay but we were so cozy and relaxed inside this lovely place that it didn't matter. This is not just a place to stay, it's a place to recharge and renew.

3 kinds of Dr. Bronner's soaps from which to choose, homemade granola for breakfast, ironed pillow cases - these are just a few of the touches that made this place extra-ordinary. And the host, Barbara was wonderful - even giving us a few things from her garden when we left. I am an Airbnb host, too, in fact a superhost, but in my opinion Barbara should be a super duper host. Stay here if you can!

We were so happy with our stay. This beautifully designed spacious studio was the ideal intersection of high quality artistic meets elegant-Eco. The bathroom is very modern and tasteful with heated floor tiles. Adorable and functional kitchen. The space is as lovely as the photos. Set against a picturesque backdrop of Vermont at it's best we fell in love with the space. We'll be back if it's available next time we visit our son at his nearby college. Hosts were lovely, responsive and really went the extra mile to make our stay great. Enjoy!

What a beautiful place! We were greeted by Judith who led us upstairs to a spotless apartment that felt more like a secluded cabin...perfect! After showing us around, she left us to enjoy the local cheese and crackers and bottle of wine she so thoughtfully provided. We ate dinner in town every night. The tiny town of Walpole is lovely and the 2 restaurants we ate at were amazing! The neighborhood is very peaceful and there are many dairy farms in the area (one was just up the road) so you will see lots of cows grazing. Judith also has a beautiful horse named William who came over to greet us at the fence a few times. If you're looking for a "tranquil retreat", this is definitely where you should come.

We had an awesome stay at the Tranquil Retreat. Everything was perfect, beginning from the beautiful apartment, the interior as well as the wine, apples, fresh eggs and cheese we found in the fridge. The neighbourhood is very quite, perfect to escape a busy city for a weekend. Walpole is a 10 minute drive away and offers a few lunch/dinner options. We definitely want to come back.

Bliss. Absolute bliss. All of the foundational elements of an great AirBnB were there (cleanliness, accuracy, and so on), and this spot was also gorgeous, lovingly maintained, private, homey, comfortable, historical, warm, well-equipped, and great-smelling. It is an ideal spot for a work or writing retreat, a wonderful couple's getaway. Anna and her parents offer outstanding value in this listing.

This was a beautiful place to stay in the woods. The space is carefully and thoughtfully designed and all details were taken care of. Judith is very nice and couldn't have been a better host. The location is excellent; we enjoyed finding covered bridges, hiking, and the little market in town. We can't wait to visit again.

Judith/ Anna made us feel so welcome at their cozy little cabin in Walpole. It is connected to the main house but completely sound-proof and it felt like we were on our own the entire time. When we arrived there were some snacks and a lovely note in the cabin for us, and there were no issues getting a fire going. Overall, the space is so beautiful with rich wooden details and more modern amenities. A perfect place to retreat and restore. I wish we didn't have to leave!

We had four adults and a toddler in our group traveling to our friend's wedding at Alyson's Orchard. We loved staying at the dairy farm and it was minutes from the Orchard. Karin is very friendly and accommodating. We were impressed with the personal touch she added to our stay. She left us bagels, fresh cream cheese, and homemade cookies and all were delicious. We got to see them milk the cows and help feed the calves. They also have a small farm store and we bought fresh eggs to have for breakfast. So delicious! The apartment was very comfortable and had an old farm house feel. This was our best air bnb experience yet!

If you are looking or even thinking about staying here just do it. Nice space and great people. The kids loved being on a working farm. They milked cows and fed the goats and horses. Didnt have a chance to fish and swim in the pond. Get to it next time.

We had such a great time on Karin's farm. We met the family and were greeted by two of the friendliest dogs. We got a whole tour of the farm and got to pet cows, watch them get milked, and even got to ride on the tractor! Karin was extremely responsive and gave great recommendations on local restaurants. The space was perfect, clean, and comfortable. We slept with the window open and fell asleep to the soothing sounds of the river flowing by. Waking up with a view of the cows was so great! We'd give this place a 5/5 rating. We will be back!

Amazing experience @ this working dairy farm! Karin, Pete and their family are warm, welcoming hosts. The apartment is super-clean and Karin has thought of EVERYTHING - even providing bagels, juice & more for our first breakfast. . . wonderful thick towels. . . all bedding. . .did I mention everything?! Loved milking the cows, hanging with the calves/goats, and especially spending time with Breezy the resident Bernese Mountain Dog - love her! What a rich experience as we dropped one of our kids to start his freshman year at a local college. We would HIGHLY recommend this apartment for anyone wanting a glimpse of a small family farm, a chance to get back to the source of our food and a chance to show your kids the same thing. A wonderful place to visit. The accommodations are great. Karin and Pete are very welcoming and have thought of everything that you may need during a visit. We were greeted by the happiest and friendliest dog when we arrived, which appropriately set the tone for the rest of our stay. We highly recommend a visit.

Wow - what a find. Karin was both friendly and attentive to detail throughout our whole booking process and stay. The place was super clean, which is very important to me. When we got to the farm she drove us to her massage office and gave us both AMAZING massages.. Like the BEST I've ever had. She also made us dinner reservations and had awesome reccomendations for what to do and where to eat. I wish this place was closer. The farm was absolutely beautiful and seeing the animals was a real treat. We loved all of Karin's little special touches that made our stay that much more memorable. We cannot wait to go back. Cannot reccomend enough!!!

Staying here was amazing. We loved the cows and the apartment was beautiful. It was very clean and quiet. Karin provided cookies, bagels and maple syrup. We walked around the farm, bought some beef at their store and even got massages. It was a relaxing, fun weekend.

Lauren's cottage is great! we really enjoyed our stay there. very cozy and spacious and well equipped. it was close to downtown putney and close to most of putney's attractions .

The cottage is lovely, cozy, light and beautifully appointed. It is very comfortable and Lauren and Drew add extra touches that made me feel very welcome (food stuff and bath stuff). The surroundings are magnificent - the trails, the brook, the pond, and the grounds are accessible (hammocks and a bench).

My friend and I had a wonderful weekend in the cozy cottage loft! The cottage is adorable and the surroundings couldn't be more beautiful. Drew and Lauren made us feel very welcome and their suggestions of things to do in the area were spot on. We ate like queens with fresh veggies and cheeses from local farms and got a lovely taste of life in rural Vermont. The cottage had everything we needed--nice dishes, comfy beds, even a few board games. We did not have any cell reception, but the internet was fast. (We were even able to stream a movie one night.) We were able to get cell service in the nearest town. Overall, it was a great experience. I hope I can make it back to see the leaves one year. I can't even imagine how gorgeous that would be.

Stayed at the cottage for 4 days. Both Lauren and family were all very accommodating. The cottage was clean and very nicely decorated. The town was great too. Lots of good food options with Farm to Table restaurants all throughout the area. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for allowing me to stay.

We came to VT for a 2 day ski trip and had a wonderful time staying at this loft. Very nice and cozy inside. Our hosts were great to us!

La propriété est tout simplement magnifique; la maison est accolée à un chemin de terre et il y a beaucoup d'acres avec des sentiers qui traversent les bois et vers le bas à une petite rivière magnifique. La liste représente l'appartement bien. Il est mignon, confortable et propre avec beaucoup de lumière naturelle, une petite cuisine bien équipée (et un grand thé et café approvisionné pour les clients!), Et un lit très confortable, plus un salon. Je pouvais entendre la famille un peu, mais il était tout à fait bien. Ils étaient très gentils et prêts à vous aider avec tout ce que je avais besoin, mais aussi le respect de ma vie privée. Je vais certainement revenir encore et nous avons déjà dit aux gens à ce sujet que je connais sont à la recherche d'un endroit calme et agréable de vous évader dans les bois.

We had a wonderful time at Andrea's beautiful apartment. It is simple and clean with a very comfy bed. We loved the little hiking trail on the property, and were so comfortable in the apartment that my little daughter didn't want to leave!

Andrea était un hôte fantastique, toute sa famille est venue à notre rencontre et nous a montré la propriété et nous a fait sentir les bienvenus. So beautiful! It was everything I expected and more. The area is very calm, relaxing, and Andrea & Jon were very friendly and helpful. The apartment is very eco-friendly and the smell of the hand soap provided is now my favorite scent ever. Definitely check out the brook when you stop by, it's so dang tranquil and there's plenty of room to explore!

Beautiful surroundings. Friendly host. Well-designed, simple, and clean place (I was impressed by the air filter, organic coffee, and living room bar/workstation). The only issue was that there was a lot of someone's body hair all over the fitted sheet, so we ended up sleeping on the upper sheet.

We had a wonderful time at Josephine's lovely house. It was the perfect place for a little R&R away from the city-life in Boston. Her house was conveniently located near some great local restaurants including the Elm City Brewing company. Overall, an excellent choice for a quick weekend getaway trip. Josephine was a wonderful, welcoming host and was very flexible with our arrival and departure, which added to the easygoing and relaxing atmosphere.

Josephine's place was wonderful! Clean, cute decor, and a hot tub- what more do you need? Just be aware that because of its remote location you will most likely not have cell service, so wifi would have been a plus, but when you're going on a woodsy getaway you don't really miss cell service. We recommend staying here!

Josephine's home is tucked away in the forest and you will find a good deal of privacy. The house is located on a track of land that has a small River running through it. She has a number of shrubs the wild birds enjoy, so you can enjoy bird watching from the hot tub and if the jets are off you can also hear the small stream flowing. The apartment has a propane heater, which keeps it nice and warm. In all a lovely little spot to land and retreat from the world!

Josephine's apartment is lovely, spacious divided studio and kitchen. The unit feels quaint and private with views of the woods and yard. It is furnished with little gems and lovely plants along with simple but well apportioned furnishings. She helped us feel comfortable and welcomed with quick and pleasant communication. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Incredible location for Cross Country skiing, walk a few steps down from the door, put on your skis and the trail behind Elisabeth's house connects to the entire Putney School ski trail system. Looking out the large windows from the living/kithen area you'll see the skiers in the field across the pond. The apartment was very clean and the layout was convenient with the bathroom right by the doorway for any wet clothes. The bedroom was large and the living area had the great view of the ski trails and country side. The kitchen was well equipped. The location is very convenient for VT, being only 5 miles off the I-91 Exit and 10 miles from Brattleboro. Elisabeth responded very quickly to my questions before I booked and was available to answer any questions while we were there.

Beautiful location in the hills of Vermont. Elisabeth and John were very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it other travelers. You can't beat the fantastic foliage!

This is a very lovely location, and it proved very convenient as I was visiting family who live just up the road. Everything was very tidy; the instructions were clear. We were very happy here.

J'ai choisi cette maison la plupart du temps pour l'emplacement, il était très proche du centre-ville et à la maison Harkness, que je trouvais très pratique. Nous avions trois personnes séjournant plus, ce qui était un peu à l'étroit, mais il a été très bien. Le seul véritable inconvénient est qu'il a un peu froid, car le chauffage de l'espace n'a pas été laissé dans l'appartement avant notre arrivée. Mais il y avait beaucoup de couvertures chaudes. La meilleure partie était certainement qu'il y avait des fournitures pour faire des crêpes fraîches le matin et les œufs absolument délicieux! Miam!

la place de Darrell est très bien situé à Mountain Resort & Ludlow Okemo. L'inconvénient est que les plafonds sont bas et vous pouvez entendre tout ce qui se passe dans l'appartement ci-dessous. Mais pour le prix, ça vaut le coup.

Very cute place to stay! Nice getaway for the weekend. Beautiful and peaceful area. Quiet...exactly what I was looking for. Great hiking in the area which I highly recommend! Not a lot of space, but there was definitely a comfortable sleeping arrangement for my friends and me. Such a treasure.

The place was lovely and charming! Cara was very welcoming and we had a very pleasant stay.

I stayed here with 4 friends as part of a golf trip weekend with some friends, while all of our significant others were at a bachelorette party. We pretty much were only at the house for an hour or two outside of sleeping, but it was the perfect place to stay for a night between the two courses that we were playing. Cara was really communicative and helpful.

I stayed in Cara's perfect little cottage with 9 friends, and from the second I booked the weekend to the moment we pulled out of the driveway, the whole experience could not have been better. Cara and I were in constant communication-- over airbnb messages and through texts-- and she was happy to answer all our questions. We were welcomed to the house by Cara's wonderful father who gave us all hugs upon arrival and showed us around. Cara's sister, Lisa, also left us a note with her number letting us know that she's just around the corner if we need anything. The house was clean and beautiful in the quaint little town of Chester. We went hiking in Hamilton Falls, apple picking at Alyson's Orchard, and ate out at Moondog Cafe for lunch and Free Range for Sunday brunch. The weekend couldn't have gone any better, and that is all thanks to Cara's hospitality and kindness.

Cara's place was perfect for my husband, myself, and our pup! We stayed for a week over Thanksgiving. The apartment is located very close to the town green area where you can find a coffee shop, pie store, nice restaurant, and great little shops. The apartment itself is very cozy and welcoming. It had everything we needed for hosting dinners for my family and an endless supply of linens and towels. It's open and roomy. Our pup enjoyed lounging by the cozy fireplace. Cara was incredibly easy to work with, and always available when we had questions. We definitely plan to stay at her place again!

Greenough's barn is a pocket of Vermont joy! I went seeking somewhere quiet to read, write, and explore. The loft—full of warmth, plants, and fairy lights—was the perfect place. It was also lovely to meet & chat with Greenough!

Mi preocupación inicial era si sería difícil encontrar la casa, ya que no teníamos ni GPS ni un mapa detallado de la zona; pero habiendo visto previamente en internet la localización, conseguimos llegar sin dificultad. La anfitriona, Greenough Nowakowski, nos estaba esperando y desde el primer momento nos cautivó por su hospitalidad y amabilidad. Nos enseñó la casa, el jardín, la huerta, los animales... nos dio información sobre Putney y sobre los paseos interesantes de la zona... nos obsequió con huevos frescos, arándanos y pepinos... We had a wonderful weekend at Greenough's apartment. It's rustic - which is exactly what we were looking for! We slept three there very comfortably (two in the bedroom and one in the loft). Even my dog enjoyed the space! Greenough was very accommodating with a late check out and very pleasant the entire time we were there. This is a wonderful place to escape a hurried lifestyle.

This is an off the grid experience. My boys and I really enjoyed it. One of mine is a bit less adventurous than the other and took a little longer to warm up to the idea of no indoor potty and no wifi, but he got over it when he saw how cool the space was. Loft like, but cozy at the same time. Greenough was sweet and accommodating without being intrusive. The bed was so very comfortable. I slept like a baby. It was very peaceful. A real refuge from our modern world.

I was so glad we got a chance to stay at this beautiful place for Thanksgiving. We saw some great mountains, had a lot of snow, and also met Greenough's chickens. If you need a place to get away from the city or just in need for some nature, there is no need to look further. The snow, the place, the people, the food; everything was just so amazing. The apartment is very clean, spacious, warm and hip, super rusty hip. Greenough had everything ready for our stay. She lives right next door from the apartment so she's always there when we needed her. We had the Thanksgiving together with her family and friends. It was definitely the best and the most unique bnb experience we have ever had. It was just great! PS: For anyone who wants to go there in winter when there is snow, you will need a 4 wheel drive or as least snow tires. They will come in handy!

Greenough's little pocket of Vermont is a beautiful spot, and she is a wonderfully gracious and welcoming host. I was made to feel right at home. This arrangement is perfectly suited for those seeking a rustic retreat, who crave simplicity, and an escape from much of our wired world.

When you imagine the beauty of rural Vermont, you are imagining Tamsin and Nick's place. For us it was the best of both worlds- the feeling of being surrounded by nature that you have when camping, together with the comfort and ammenities of a hotel. The pictures don't do it justice, both the surroundings and the house itself are more beautiful in real life. The location is also perfect- it's outside the town of Chester, in the woods, so you have complete peace and quiet and lovely forests to walk in right outside the door, but on the other hand, if you need some milk, Chester is only a 5 min drive and has both stores and restaurants. We're a family of 6, with 4 kids ages 14, 12, 9 and 7. There was plenty of room for all of us (two bedrooms and a loft that the kids loved) without feeling a bit crowded. We enjoyed playing games in the living room and making meals there, just absorbing the stunning views from the window. The kitchen is well equipped, so with a quick trip to the supermarket in Chester at the beginning, it was easy to prepare meals. There is lots to do in the area, and Tamsin left us brochures and hiking books which were very helpful. We hiked up to the top of Mt. Ascutney, which is only 40 or so min away, and went to see some nearby waterfalls. But mostly we enjoyed wandering around the forests surrounding the house and splashing in the creek that runs in front of the house. My kids got a kick out of picking the blueberries and blackberries that grow in the yard too. If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, enjoy stunning scenery and comfortable, cozy accommodations, this is the place for you. We loved it and if we lived in the US, would definitely make it a regular vacation.

Tamasin and Nick's Timber Frame apartment was fantastic. Our party was three couples and we were all able to fit comfortably and with privacy. We cooked breakfasts and dinners easily in the spacious kitchen, but if you want to eat out there are several great options in Chester. Most of our party were there for skiing/snowboarding at Okemo, but a couple of us weren't and we found the location to be great for roaming around the small towns nearby. We also did some snowshoeing on the property which was beautiful. I imagine it must be gorgeous here in the summertime, too. As for Tamasin and Nick, they were super easy to communicate with and attentive. I would say if you are planning a trip for winter, be aware the apartment is on a dirt road and conditions can be rough. Our CR-V couldn't handle the ice on the driveway on arrival, but Tamasin was very quick to have someone come sand in the morning.

We were extremely happy with our stay in The Treetop Apartment. Our hosts were very welcoming, and provided us with all the information to make our stay a safe and comfortable one with two small children. The apartment has beautiful views from every window and skylight and was delightful in both sunshine and rain. Very quiet and peaceful location. There is a number of surrounding villages all within a short drive. A highlight for us was the blueberry picking right outside the front door. We would love to visit again.

We were two couples who had a very nice stay here for the New Year's weekend. It served as a really comfortable and relaxing home base while hitting the slopes at Okemo. Tamasin was very detailed and welcoming and the place had so much character. We would definitely return here without a doubt.

We had an amazing stay here. The coziest cabin in a gorgeous woodland area. Great area, spent our days snowboarding at Okemo and enjoyed exploring the area some in the evening. The cabin was very clean, light, and beautiful. Very nice to have a wood stove after a day outside in freezing temps. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking dishes and accessories. Tamasin was a wonderful host, very accessible and helpful with everything. Also was a treat to see all the incredible blown glass art on display! Would love to stay here again!

We had a superb weekend at Tamasin! The apartment is spacious, clean and has lots of charm. Only downside: the floor creaks when you walk. (Do not have too much light sleep). But it was soon forgotten by the rather heavenly location of the house which is located on a large flower field (just far enough back) where it is possible to blueberry picking in season. We were there for the hiking and we were not disappointed. The Green Mountains are full of treks with different levels of difficulty. We're already planning our next trip to Vermont!

If you're looking for something very comfortable and cozy, don't hesitate to stay here. Fiona's place is fantastic! It's on the third floor of a house -- and it is a fully equipped home (two bedrooms, laundry, kitchen, balcony, bathroom). We loved the main area ... so much we felt like staying there all day long. Actually, we came back early from a day of skiing just to relax and hang out in the home. We'd love to come back!

Lovely little apartment. We weren't there a lot as we were skiing all day but it was a wonderful, quiet place to return from the hustle of the mountain. The house is full of beautiful artistic creations. Her manual about the house is very useful. Love the electric blankets on the beds. No one was cold despite the snow. There's a lovely balcony off the kitchen that's probably an amazing place to dine in the summer.

This apartment is located halfway between Stratton and Mount Snow and is great for a weekend ski trip to both. The apartment itself is comfortable and can sleep up to four people, but it should be noted that the bedrooms are adjacent to one another and share a door so there is not much privacy. The town of Newfane itself is very quaint and in something of a cell phone dead zone, which I personally enjoyed but others may not.

Kristen is super welcoming ! When we arrived she left us hot chocolate and wine to enjoy as well as a welcome note. My gf and I were very comfortable in her home, it fulfilled our needs. Okemo Mt is a 35 min drive away . Only thing I would rescommend is to bring a laptop to watch movies since the home has no tv .

Kristen was the best host, her house was beautiful, and her personal touches made our trip so much more special. The town of Bellows Falls is picture perfect and we wouldn't have changed a thing.
