Best coffee, croissant/bread/pastries, great takeaway and place to stop for breakfast/brunch/lunch. The owners and staff are lovely and it’s an 11-minute drive from the house. We probably visit about four times per week. You can also order in advance and pickup for takeaway.

Cocktails are excellent, we also love their burger, the staff is really nice, it’s open late, and they just do a great job all around. A must visit when in Hudson. Their cafe, restaurant and hotel are all incredible, too. Owners are super nice, and also own Bartlett House.

This diner is awesome that basically serves hamburgers and a few other things. The burgers are incredible, they make their own soda and they have some superlative about how they source the meat.

Really nice grocery store. It’s like Whole Foods meets Dean & Deluca (RIP!) with a dash of white, liberal guilt! That said, their wine edit is great, the meats and offerings couldn’t be better, and the staff is super knowledgeable — they’re how I learned about Japanese Mayo and small batch tequila which You’ll find in the liquor cabinet, and it’s where I go for fish, meat, provisions, etc. 33-minute drive (it’s a beautiful drive, too) from the house.

Great restaurant in Great Barrington. Cocktails, brunch, dinner, etc. during Covid they have tents and a pizza oven, and there’s indoor dining jn the restaurant now. Love the food and crowd. You can’t go wrong.

He also endowed most of the parks, libraries in the area.
Great breakfast and lunch option in Hillsdale. They offer an ever changing menu, but the food quality is exceptional — about a 15-minute drive from the house.

Outdoor sculpture park and architecture field. You can bring your children, dogs, snowshoes, etc., and it’s free and the perfect way to spend some time after coffee and before venturing into Hudson. I have never taken anyone here who does not love it. Pick up coffee from
Bartlett House on the way. You truly must visit this place. It’s also small enough that you can walk it in 30 minutes. If walking is an issue for you, call ahead and they’ll let you use the golf cart.

Each book is around $3 and I almost feel like it’s a mirage, since it’s so special. You wouldn’t know it exists if you weren’t told about it, since it’s hidden in a back road. Everyone from the community donates their books and shops there, and it makes me so happy this place exists and that everyone in the area is consuming all of this. It’s so truly special and what makes Hillsdale unique. You will not regret visiting and supporting this establishment. The breadth of offerings is truly impressive.

Each book is around $3 and I almost feel like it’s a mirage, since it’s so special. You wouldn’t know it exists if you weren’t told about it, since it’s hidden in a back road. Everyone from the community donates their books and shops there, and it makes me so happy this place exists and that everyone in the area is consuming all of this. It’s so truly special and what makes Hillsdale unique. You will not regret visiting and supporting this establishment. The breadth of offerings is truly impressive.
