Michelin listed 18 in top 50 Bistros. Great ambience, open kitchen, lively atmosphere. Locally sourced food. We have not tried it yet and this is probably a more expensive option than others in my guidebook.

The food is anything but ordinary with fresh local produce used in imaginative and modern twists on traditional recipes. We had duck breast with pastrami on roast beetroot and green beans last time we ate there. You can tell everyone is enjoying themselves as diners are always chatty and animated in the dining area.

This road is the broken and crumbling remains of the old main road from Chapel en le Frith to Castleton. Take the turning for Blue John show cave and find a parking spot. Beyond the carpark it is passable with care on foot, mountain bike or horseback.
