Only 2.5 hours away and nestled right in the hills of the "driftless area", you'll find this artist haven - home to famed Frank Lloyd Wright -right on the Wisconsin river. Wonderful day trip or overnight - Catch a play at the American Players outdoor theater - ask at the box office if tickets don't seem available - they have a liberal exchange policy. Enjoy a float or kayak down the river and picnic on one of the many sand bars. Check out global view for many object from all over the east- you may even bump into a Tibetan monk making a mandala. Check out the thriving food scene where you'll find artisan cheese factories, pastured pork, hand ground ancient grains and more. In fall, check out the artist tour and go through many artist shops
