Take a day trip to Temecula and go wine tasting. It's an hour drive but easy to hire a car. I'd recommend Ponte for a tasting and lunch, Callaway and South Coast are beautiful. If you like Champaign go to Wilson's Creek and try their "Almond Champaign".
