Manteigaria Silva is one of the traditional shop in Lisbon. They started their business on 1890. Here you can buy many good quality Portuguese prosciuttos, cheese and also wines. They sell very typical bread called "Broa" (corn bread) that is very good. You should try it! You can also see dried Cod Fishes. It is located very close to Praça da Figueira.

Don't go this street at Baixa to eat since it is very touristic and some of them will rip you off.

Rua Augusta, the main street of Baixa, is very nice for shopping or drinking coffee but don't eat here. Very touristic, expensive and not good food. Specially avoid at all cost the seafood restaurant called "Concha d'Ouro"!

I am half Japanese and I can recommend this Japanese restaurant at Baixa. It is runned by Japanese owners. You can eat Sushi and other popular Japanese foods. The service is ok but the food is very good.

This is the best seafood restaurant in Lisbon with a great and frenetic environment! The seafood does not include grilled fish. Only shrimps and shellfish. It’s open from noon until 11:00 pm. As this is very popular, expect to wait, at least, 30 min to get in. It is possible to book the table through their e-mail if you book ahead. Besides seafood, they also have a Beef Sandwich called “Prego” which is very good. They close on Mondays and the entire month of August.

"A Rosa e o Vinho", located at Rua Antero Quental 37-A, is recently opened restaurant in the area of Intendente. It is tiny and you won't find much of information on the Internet. But the food is amazing. It is genuine Portuguese food with really fresh products and vintage decor. The price is very reasonable. The service is rather slow but very nice staff. It is worth a visit!

Shopping

Hospital de Bonecas, Dolls Hospital, is also another traditional shop in Lisbon. It started the business as doll repair shop. It is original and interesting. If you are with your children, you should go there if you are close to Praça da Figueira. The service is not so friendly ....

A Vida Portuguesa is the shop where you can buy quality Portuguese products. They are a little bit expensive but the design and the quality are really good. If you want to buy souvenirs, this is the good place to explore. They have few shops in Lisbon but this is my favourite one!

This supermarket is located at Praça Martim Moniz and it sells many asian and exotic foods. For your curiosity, in the entrance of the supermarket, there is a coffee shop that serves one of the best noodles in Lisbon. If you can handle hot & spicy noodle and you are close to Praça Martim Moniz, it is good place to visit!

Sightseeing

Santa Justa elevator is one of the most visited attraction in Lisbon. But, personally, I recommend you to not ride the lift because you will wait for long time to get in (because the ticket office is really not organized), the ride is just about 30 seconds and it is not really interesting. What is interesting is the rooftop part of this elevator that can be accessed separately from the behind of Convento de Carmo (Carmo Convent). To access to the rooftop part, you also have to buy the ticket but it is cheaper and the view is amazing!

I must say that Convento do Carmo (Carmo Convent) is one of my favourite monument in Lisbon. The convent was built in late 14th century but the ceiling part was destroyed in the 1755 Lisbon earthquick. But this creats really misterious feeling to the convent. They also have small archaeological museum inside. If you go around the convent, you can go to the bar called "Topo" with amazing Santa Justa Elevator view and you can also access to the rooftop part of Santa Justa Elevator.

Largo do Intendente used to be red-light district in Lisbon but this was transformed into the trendy and artistic place to be. It is beautiful plaza with many coffee shops. None of them has really good service but it is worth the visit.

Topo Chiado is very nice place to relax, enjoy the great view of Santa Justa Elevator and have a drink. They also have another bar at Martim Moniz Square with amazing Castle View.
