How to get about in Corfu starting at The Old Cypress Tree The number 2B bus leaves from the bus stop which is 25 metres from my gate. There are buses into the centre of town approximately a few times a day and the journey takes 12 minutes to San Rocco Square. It costs 1.50 euros if you buy a ticket on the bus, but 1.20 euros if you buy tickets in San Rocco Square. There is a bus that goes from the port to the airport (#15) via San Rocco Square and it leaves from the port/airport every half hour. It takes about 40 minutes to the airport. The port is a 15 minute walk from my house. To get to the following destinations I have given an approximate time for walking and travelling by car. The following destinations are only accessible by ferry-boat. The ferries leave from the New Port and tickets are available from the offices in the New Port and near the roundabout at the end of the Port area/Mandouki. Paxos and Antipaxos Kefalonia Lefkada Albania Igoumenitsa (Mainland Greece) Italy And more. Near my house, there are a few wonderful tavernas which do not feature on Tripadvisor or websites. They are reasonable and have delicious food and are within walking distance! Try these!!! Daou fish taverna (Ta psarakia tou Daou) Tatsis grillroom. Tandoori Bites (Indian). Ask me how to get there! Also near my house is a bakery for fresh bread, pies, cakes etc. It is open from 8.00 to 14.00. (A 5 minute walk). In Solari (about 20 / 25 minutes from my house on foot) there is Michalis Grimmas (butcher) and Alpha Bakery (bread, pies, cakes) in the dirction of Sklavenitis Supermarket. Also there is a pharmacy (Babis Palikiras) and numerous coffee shops and some restaurants.
