Packing over fifty years of combined experience in the service industry and a mutual vision of their future, the two decided Carolina Beach would be the place to call home and pursue their dream of owning a restaurant. The opportunity presented itself in the Summer of 2017. Aligning their minds creatively, Soul Flavor was conceived and born the following November. The mission is to provide a menu offering dishes using the freshest and most locally sourced ingredients as possible being professionally presented in a relaxed environment. Keeping in mind dietary restrictions and the importance of having healthy options, Chef Newton crafts a diverse and evolving menu with a little something for everyone. The atmosphere reflects the menu in its uniqueness. One-of-a-kind artwork hangs on the vibrantly painted walls and guests dine to classic Soul music. Friends and neighbors gather at the bar where cocktails are mixed using fresh-squeezed juices and scratch-made syrups. The House red and white Sangria are a favorite among the locals. Six rotating beer taps and a thoughtful wine selection also add to the genuine Soul Flavor experience.

All of our instructors are CPR, AED, and first aid certified, with their main focus for surf instruction being safety
in the water while having fun! We are located in Carolina Beach, just minutes from Wilmington and Wrightsville.
Professional Surfer, Tony Silvagni, is the proud owner of the Tony Silvagni Surf School since 2008. Tony has been devotedly competing worldwide for over twenty five years. His most recent accomplishments include finishing equal 9th place in the world for professional longboard on the world longboard tour for 2017. Also, in 2017 Tony placed 1st in Pro Longboard at the Belmar Pro in New Jersey and 1st place in the Open Pro Longboard in the Guy Takayama Pro in Oceanside, California. In 2016, Tony won the USA National Pro Longboard title in Oceanside California against the 3X World Champion Taylor Jenson. Tony also won the 2016 Trump Hyuga Pro Longboard Champion in Miyazaki Japan. In 2015, Tony won the Taiwan Open of Surfing Pro Longboard in Jinzun harbor. In 2011 Tony won one of his biggest surf achievements at the ISA World Games in Panama winning the Gold Medal World Longboard Champion for Team USA.

At scheduled times throughout the year, costumed guided tours tell the story of the Confederate artillerists and U.S. infantrymen. Guides teach participants the "drill" with wooden rifles. Participants also learn the artillery drill (non-firing) on a bronze 12-pounder gun. Staff and volunteers also fire the 12-pounder throughout the year.
We ask that groups make reservations in advance.

The tour trail is approximately one-quarter-mile long and encircles the remains of the fort on the river side of the highway. Exhibit panels containing photos and text are located at many locations along the tour trail. A restored gun emplacement is located on top of one of the batteries. Battle Acre, a monument to Confederate dead, is located on the ocean side of U.S. 421. A pavilion located at the northern end of the parking lot houses a display on underwater archaeology.
Handicapped Accessibility
The visitor center and rest rooms are fully accessible. The tour trail is also accessible with assistance, but the restored gun emplacement is not.
