The Madrassa was the Koranic School & main seminary equivalent for hundreds of years. Boys attended to get a good quality education & were taught by the religious body, permanently housed there. Following a 3year renovation project, The Madrassa has been returned to its breathtaking best. The calligraphic decoration is awesome & there is a pervading sense of peace & spirituality

Keep mobile phones out of sight- pickpockets' target!

Marrakech has a low crime rate EXCEPT pickpocketing. They are not interested in credit cards or cash, so much- it's the latest MOBILE PHONES they want, so don't leave them in back or side pockets- you won't even feel them disappearing....
Frasa bermanfaat

'No' will be your most useful phrase

It's really easy to say & remember. If you get bothered by children or someone offering you something, just hold up your hand, palm facing them & say 'LA' in a strong voice. This is the arabic for no & seems to work well in making people go away.

Travel in Style

Treat yourself to a caleche ride. It's an open coach, you sit up high & are pulled by 2 horses, who are well looked after. The driver will take you round the old city walls & you will see everything from a completely different viewpoint- just like a member of a Royal Family!
Yang harus dikemas

Remember Morocco is a moslem country...

This isn't the place to bring your mini skirts & skimpiest of tops. No-one is expecting you to be dressed like locals, just to have a bit of respect....

Bargaining is a way of life

Most of us are really uncomfortable with bargaining, but in The Souks, there are no fixed prices & its expected. As a rule of thumb, start your offer at 50% of what the shopkeeper is asking & work your way up. Never show too much interest in anything: keep your sunglasses on so they can't see what you are looking at!

Stilettoes not required

Pavements everywhere are badly maintained & very uneven, so leave the high heels at home
