The drive there is unique. It is closed in winter due to icy narrow roads.. The view is iconic. Drive a bit further up the west side of the lake to Sugar Pine Point State Park to see a pretty lakeside mansion and turquoise lake water.

From our street, continue down South Upper Truckee Rd to where it bends sharply back towards highway 89. There are several parking spots at the base of the moderate 4.3 mi trail featuring a waterfall. May to October hiking and/or mountain biking.

Lira's is a community hub for the Meyers area of South Lake Tahoe. They have a decent selection of food and some gourmet items as sell. Their prices are a bit higher than the huge Raleys closer to the Lake but Lira's is a small town store that supports the community.
Pick up the latest copy of the local Daily Tribune to see what is going on. There are usually some dinner-type coupons inside as well.
